We had some very special visitors yesterday! Kindergarten and 1st graders joined us for an Easter egg hunt while our residents enjoyed watching. The kiddos picked out prizes, enjoyed cookies and drinks and filled our building with smiles. 🐣🌷

A few photos of the new wall decor, it’s taken longer than I anticipated. And we have several more walls to fill. I am continuing to look through local photos that were sent to me as time allows. Danny Bruckner purchased different software so he can work with pictures and create better quality canvas.

This week, for National Long Term Care Administrators Week, we celebrate someone truly special. For over 20 years, Diana has been the heart and backbone of Pioneer Lodge. Through challenges like COVID and countless other trials, she’s led with strength, care and pride. She makes work fun, shows she genuinely cares about every employee, and always puts our residents first.

Thank you for your dedication, your guidance, and the heart you pour into this facility every day. Pioneer Lodge is stronger because of you- we appreciate you more the words can say!

As you can see on the list, several of them have many years of service.

Take the Time

I expected a quick hug…

Instead, I watched a grandpa wrap his arms around his grandson and not let go.

I spend a lot of mornings at the retirement center visiting my father in-law. It is how I start my day. My son does not get there as often. Life is full. He is busy working, building, creating, and starting his own family.

Today, our timing all lined up.

What happened... 🥹

It was not my son holding on.
It was his grandpa.

He pulled his grandson in and held him.
Not briefly.
For a long, meaningful time.

No words.
No rush.
Just a grandfather holding his grandson like he was trying to store the feeling.

I stood there and watched.

If you have the chance to visit someone you love, take it.
