MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE VISION !!

My name is Melvin Ezeokonkwo, founder of Built Off Faith Sports Recovery. I am a certified sports medicine clinician and strength / conditionings coach. I started this company because of my passion to educate every day athletes about the importance of taking care of their bodies through recovery !

From high school all the way to college I had the privilege of participating in athletics through football and track and field. While competing in high school I had a few injuries and unfortunately did not have access to the staff, equipment, or education required to adequately recover until I got to college. It was then that I was introduced to a variety of modalities (cupping therapy, deep tissue massage, scraping, electrical stimulation, and etc.) that helped me become the best athlete I could be.

I’ve had the privilege to work with everyday athletes who just want to move and feel better since then and I discovered that most individuals were experiencing the same issues I had while in high school which was the lack of access to important recovery methods.
The average person does not have access to therapeutic modalities that could help them be at optimal level unless they were at a top Division 1 school or a professional athlete, or through physical therapy were you would have to deal with insurance.

You should not be limited as to how you perform because of lack of access to these important tools and that’s were I come in !! My clients include anyone from professional athletes all the way to individuals who just experience aches and pain from their place of work.

I believe in taking care of the temple God blessed us with. The ability to move pain free is a blessing that I do not take for granted and I want to help every individual I can to achieve this !

🔥With this technique that I’m using I was able to mobilize deep connective tissue directly which will help decompress the dysfunctional tissue.⠀

💪🏾 By applying traction or pulling forces to these tissues, decompression helps mobilize the viscous ground substance within them.⠀
This, in turn, increases the presence of hyaluronan, a natural lubricant, which contributes to smoother movement and reduced discomfort.⠀

✍🏽 This will help the quad muscle to slide and glide better leading to reductions in pain and improved movement quality !⠀

🎯 Excessive Knee Valgus in your squat is a mechanical deficiency where your knees cave in. When your knees are in that inward position you predispose yourself to some serious injuries that could keep you away from training for awhile. ⁣⠀

✍🏽 The most common reason this happens is because the strength in the hips is insufficient! When you lack strength in your hips your knees won’t have the proper support that they need while you squat. To compensate for your hips, your knees cave in! Strong hips will provide your knees with support so that they do not cave in! ⁣⠀
⁣⠀
💪🏾 The muscles that we want to focus on are your adductors to prevent this from happening!! These muscles include the Glute Maximus, Glute medius, Glute minimus and Tensor fascia latae! ⁣⠀
