What Happens When Cortisol Stays Too High
When cortisol levels remain elevated for a long time (chronic stress), the body enters a catabolic state. This means instead of building tissue, the body starts breaking it down.
Cortisol doesn’t literally “eat” your muscles, but chronic high cortisol breaks down muscle tissue for energy.
This can especially affect the hips and core, leading to pain, weakness, and mobility issues.
🔑Managing stress is key for keeping both your mind and body strong.
