Resurrection Sunday is a reminder that our salvation rests entirely on Jesus Christ. He is the only sinless and perfect Son of God. Jesus lived in complete obedience to the Father, was falsely condemned by sinful men, carried the weight of our guilt to the cross, and then triumphed over death by rising again in victory.

As Scripture says, “He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth” (1 Peter 2:22), yet Christ died for our sins, was buried and was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3–4).

The resurrection is not wishful thinking; it is the foundation of our hope, because “he is not here, for he has risen, as he said” (Matthew 28:6).

Jesus was not merely a teacher who died tragically, He is the risen Savior who conquered the grave and lives forevermore (Revelation 1:17–18).

It is because He lives, our sins can be forgiven, death has lost its sting, and eternal life is secured for all who repent and believe in Him (Romans 6:9; John 11:25–26).

The resurrection also stands firm under truth and testimony.

First, Jesus’ body was not stolen, for the tomb was guarded and sealed, yet it was still found empty (Matthew 27:62–66; 28:11–15).

Second, His followers did not simply imagine seeing Him, because the risen Christ appeared physically and repeatedly to many people individually, in groups, and even to more than five hundred at one time (Luke 24:36–43; John 20:26–29; 1 Corinthians 15:5–8).

Third, Jesus’ coming, suffering, death, and victory were foretold long before Bethlehem and Calvary, fulfilling prophecy after prophecy.
It was said from the promised suffering servant in Isaiah 53, to the pierced Messiah in Zechariah 12:10, to the One whose soul would not remain in the grave in Psalm 16:10.

Therefore, this is the wonder of the gospel: the eternal Son of God humbled Himself and came to earth for us, taking on flesh, walking among sinners, and dying in our place.

Yet, Jesus is no ordinary man. He is the exalted Christ, “King of kings and Lord of lords” (Revelation 19:16), who “though he was in the form of God… humbled himself” (Philippians 2:6–11).

The risen Jesus is our humble Savior, our reigning King, and our living Lord worthy of all praise forever.

The gospel of Luke, chapter nineteen, draws us into one of the most moving and meaningful moments in the life of Jesus. Here is His triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

As He rides in on a humble c**t, the crowds rejoice, laying down cloaks and praising God, crying out, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” (Luke 19:38).

Yet even in this celebration, there is a deeper awareness: this is not a king who comes to conquer by force, but one who comes to give Himself in love. This moment marks the beginning of the path toward the cross, reminding us that Jesus is both our rightful King and our willing Savior.

Today, we can resonate with this scene not just as history, but as a living invitation. We welcome Him as our Lord, acknowledging His reign in our lives, and we stand in awe of His sacrifice made for us.

In a world often marked by uncertainty, His entry into Jerusalem reminds us of a steady, compassionate King who chooses humility and love over power.

As Augustine of Hippo once reflected, “God loves each of us as if there were only one of us.” Such a truth draws us into deep gratitude. Jesus does not remain distant, but calls us into His family, inviting us to belong, to be known, and to be loved. Remembering this today, our hearts can echo the cries of that crowd way back then, not just in praise, but in thankful surrender to the King who came for us.

As more local weather reports come in, the travel conditions seem at higher hazardous risk particularly overnight Saturday and into Sunday morning.

Considering the safety of those who attend, Celebrate Recovery @ BL will NOT meet tomorrow night.

Remain safe and avoid travel if at all possible. We will continue to share updates on scheduling, resources and spiritual encouragement.

Enjoy God’s word, a warm cuppa and prayer for all who might be out who needs to be.

Love you all,
