Jared Meyer Counseling PLLC

Jared Meyer Counseling PLLC Experienced mental health professional serving adults and couples. I have been providing mental health counseling services in Bryan/College Station since 2017.

My journey into the counseling profession was far from direct, but I believe the diversity of work and life experience I bring into my current work provides the perspective necessary to connect with my clients. I have a BBA in Management from Texas A&M (class of '03) and MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. My wife and I have lived in Bryan-College Station for nearly 20 years and we have three young children. I love outdoor adventures, cool weather (not sure how I landed on living in BCS!), serving as a small group leader in our church and running. Jared is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas ( #79580).

Most adults don’t stop playing because they grow up.
They stop playing because life gets heavy… and somewhere along the way, fun starts to feel “unnecessary.”

But here’s the truth:
Play isn’t childish.
Play is what brings you back to yourself.

It resets your nervous system, breaks up perfectionism, and reminds you that you’re more than the pressure you carry.

If you feel disconnected, flat, or constantly in “serious mode,” try adding just 10 minutes of something that feels unpolished, imperfect, and fun.

Your body will thank you.
Your people will thank you.
You might even thank yourself.

Let yourself play again.

Most people don’t realize they’re struggling until something forces them to stop.

A blow up.

A fight.

A shutdown.

A loss of motivation.

A moment of clarity that’s been a long time coming.

We weren’t taught to notice our inner world.

We were taught to push through it.

But presence is a skill.

Awareness is a skill.

Alignment is a skill.

And when we learn to slow down, notice, and tell the truth about what’s going on inside, life becomes steadier, healthier, and far more grounded.

If you’re waking up to the fact that something needs to change, you’re not alone.

DM “Alignment” if you’re ready to slow down, listen, and rebuild from a deeper place.

Most men don’t lack strength.

They lack space — space to slow down, feel, and name what’s actually going on inside.

Self-awareness isn’t about becoming emotional.

It’s about becoming grounded.

Men who learn to pause, notice, and tell the truth about what they’re feeling become:

• steadier under pressure

• less reactive

• more present with the people they love

• and more aligned with who they want to be

If you want support building this skill, I walk with men who are ready for deeper presence and alignment.

Most people only see the moment when the session begins.

But what you don’t see are the few quiet minutes before —

when I unlock the door, turn on the lights, and steady myself enough to hold someone else’s story.

Not because I have it all together.

But because honesty needs a room that isn’t rushed.

And most of us are carrying more than we say out loud.

These small rhythms — the light, the stillness, the breath —

help me remember what this work really is:

A place where you don’t have to perform.

A place where pressure can finally drop.

A place where what’s heavy can be held.

If you’ve been carrying something alone,
you’re not the only one.

Some days it’s hard to pause long enough to notice what’s going on inside.

We move from task to task, conversation to conversation—rarely stopping to ask what’s beneath the surface.

Day 30 reflection:

“As this 30-day reflection ends, what are you most grateful for — and how has this journey shifted what you notice or value?”

Take a moment to pause.

Breathe.

Let the question linger before you scroll on.

You don’t have to fix or analyze anything—just notice what comes up.

That’s where connection begins.

This is part of the 30 Day Reset – A Reflection Series, a journey of 30 daily prompts to help you slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with what really matters.
