Top 5 Things I Get Asked as a Currently Pregnant Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist
Do you do your own PT?
Yes and no! I have been able to use my knowledge and experience to keep myself comfortable during this pregnancy but in my third pregnancy, I had pretty bad pelvic pain and I went to see who was so helpful to me in managing my symptoms!
Which is best, birthing center, home birth, hospital, or something else?
This is so dependent on mom and baby. Not one size fits all! I’m supportive of the preference of mom and never judge what they want their birth experience to be.
What other providers do you see to support your pregnancy?
This time around I had prenatal massages with , nervous system regulation chiropractic sessions with with and will be doing some lymphatic work with ! This is not a limited list, we have so many amazing resources for pregnancy in BCS!!
Favorite exercise during pregnancy?
Hands down, cat cow to child’s pose. I love this one because it is so helpful through all stages of pregnancy and labor and delivery! During pregnancy it’s great for thoracic and pelvic mobility and during labor it’s perfect for movement and partner can perform hip squeezes for pain relief too!
What is your number one tip for after baby gets here?
Get in all of the snuggles and of course, see a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist! No matter what kind of birth experience that you have, whether it’s a vaginal or a surgical birth, it is still necessary to be evaluated by a Pelvic Floor PT. It helps with recovery, returning back to exercise comfortably, prevention of leakage, and so much more. Im lucky that is making a guest appearance at so I will be following up with her for my visit!
