I’ve recently seen several kids with low iron—and what stood out wasn’t just the labs, but the symptoms that brought them to me.
Bruising. Picky eating or decreased appetite. Fatigue.
Individually, these can often be normal.
But when they persist or start to cluster, or if something just feels off,, it may be worth taking a closer look.
In several of my recent cases, their labs showed low iron.
Iron deficiency in kids is common, easy to miss early, simple to check, and very treatable once identified.
Not every child needs labs—but sometimes it’s worth taking a closer look.
If you’ve been noticing these patterns in your child and aren’t sure what’s normal, let’s talk about it.
