1. Primary Frozen Shoulder: No clear cause. It “comes out of nowhere.” Patients often can’t identify an injury or event.
2. Secondary Frozen Shoulder: This is more common.
Follows periods of restricted movement such as:
🌟Rotator cuff injuries
🌟Shoulder trauma
🌟Post-surgical immobilization
🌟Breast cancer treatment
🤓One study found that temporary shoulder immobilization made people 5–9x more likely to develop frozen shoulder.
