Here’s the problem:
• Fear increases muscle guarding
• Guarding reduces movement
• Reduced movement keeps pain signals loud

Most of the time, it doesn’t.

Driving shouldn’t hurt.
If you finish a commute or road trip with neck tension, low back pain, or that burning between your shoulder blades… your driving posture may be the culprit.

Try these quick adjustments next time you get behind the wheel:

🚗 1. Bring the seat closer
Your knees should be slightly bent and you should reach the pedals without leaning your spine forward.

🪑 2. Adjust the seat angle
Keep hips and knees level or with hips slightly higher.
(Too much recline = forward head posture.)

🛞 3. Bring the steering wheel to YOU
Shoulders relaxed, elbows slightly bent.
Stop reaching forward , it overloads the neck and mid-back.

🧘‍♀️ 4. Support your low back
A small lumbar roll or towel can prevent fatigue and stiffness.

👀 5. Headrest = head support, not decoration
Keep your head centered over your shoulders, not poked forward.

⏱️ 6. Take micro-breaks on longer drives
Even 30 seconds of movement at a stop can reset your posture.

Your spine is with you for every mile , treat it kindly.
If driving aggravates your pain, adjusting your mechanics and getting checked can make a huge difference.
