Working out and training are not the same thing.

A lot of athletes go to the gym and follow whatever’s trending on social media. But that’s not athletic development — that’s just exercising.

Real coaching means watching every rep. Catching compensation patterns before they become injuries. Progressing intelligently. Building an athlete — not just getting them tired.

Your athlete deserves more than a workout program they learned once and took to the gym alone.

Train movement specific. Not sport specific.

A lot of programs build training with a “sport specific” mindset — volleyball drills, soccer conditioning, sport-specific workouts. And although intentions might be good, that’s backwards.

What actually carries over is the basics. Strength, power, speed, movement quality…

How well you decelerate. How you absorb force. How you produce power from the ground up. Hip control. Ankle stability. Single-leg strength.

Those are the things show up in every sport. Every position. Every athlete.

At ELP we don’t train for a specific sport. We train athleticism first and sport second.

We train the foundation that makes you better at whatever sport you play.

That’s the difference between a workout and actual coaching.

We’ve been in Collierville for 15 years & alot of people still don’t know we’re here.

We’ve built ELP entirely on referrals — one family telling another, one athlete telling a teammate. No ads. No marketing. Just results.

We do a lot of different things, but this post is all about the athletes we train. All sports, all ages.

But female athletes — that one’s personal for us. As a family business and a stepdad to collegiate female athlete, I see firsthand what intentional training does for a young woman.

Not just on the field; but in how she carries herself. Her confidence. Her belief in what she’s capable of.

That’s why we’re so specific about how we train our girls at ELP. Female athletes have specific needs and specific movement patterns that deserve specific attention.

If you have a daughter who plays volleyball, soccer, or softball — we’d love to work with you and your family.

Volleyball players jump and land hundreds of times per game. Is your daughter trained to handle that load?

Landing mechanics, flow to absorb force, deceleration, these are things that keep volleyball players healthy and performing at a high level - and they’re not always trained in team practices.

At ELP, this is what we look at. And have been doing for 15 years in Collierville.

Here’s something most sports parents don’t hear enough.

Skill development is important. But when your child’s skill exceeds their physical capacity — their body will break down.

It happens all the time in youth sports. Athletes are technically gifted but they’re physically underprepared for the demands their sport & schedule puts on them.

The game gets faster. The competition gets more intense. And the body can’t keep up.

Training won’t make your child bulletproof, nothing does.

But building real physical capacity — movement quality, strength, force absorption — gives their body a fighting chance to keep up with their skill level and the demands of travel and school sports in today’s world.

That’s what we build at ELP… And have been for 15 years in Collierville.

Training hard and training right are two different things.

It’s not just about effort and grinding through it, it’s about movement quality, how your daughter absorbs force, how she produces it..

Those are the things that carry over and the things that keep athletes healthy.

That’s what our system is built around at ELP. Every rep. Every session.

Confidence isn’t something you just “have”. It’s built through preparation, consistency & doing things the right way. That’s what we focus on.

If your daughter plays sports, how she trains matters.

Not just for performance, but for long-term health and confidence.

Strength, movement, and control are what actually carry over.

That’s what we focus on.
