Building Empathy, Strengthening Care

At Colonial Heights Rehab Center, we believe that exceptional care starts with understanding. This week, our team took part in a special staff training focused on empathy — learning to see, feel, and understand the world through our residents’ eyes.

Through hands-on activities and meaningful discussions, our staff reflected on what it truly means to care — not just for, but about each resident. Every story, every smile, every challenge reminds us why we do what we do.

✨🌲 Step into the Sensory Forest! 🌲✨

Follow the soft carpet of moss, breathe in the scent of pinecones, and listen to the heartbeat of the earth through the rhythm of African drums.

You might meet friendly woodland animals along the way — and even a magical fox guide ready to show you hidden forest wonders! 🦊

The afternoon was spent creating Fall themed trees using broccoli florets as a paintbrush while listening to woodland sounds.

Our residents delighted to be a part of the Sensory Forest.
