Starting off the week, take a moment to pause and check in with yourself.
Ask: “What do I need this week?”

Maybe you need encouragement, clarity, patience, balance, connection, or motivation, or maybe it’s something completely different. Whatever your answer is, let it guide how you move through the next few days. You don’t have to push through the week on empty.

At Lokiten, we’re all about slowing down, tuning in, and giving yourself space to actually feel what’s going on instead of ignoring it. Mindfulness isn’t about perfection, it’s about being present with yourself in a way that feels honest and grounding.

Wishing you a steady, intentional start to the week.

The RAIN skill is a grounding technique that helps you slow down, understand what you’re feeling, and respond with intention instead of overwhelm. It’s a gentle way to interrupt emotional spirals and reconnect with what’s happening inside of you.

When we Recognize, Allow, Investigate, and Nurture, we create space between the emotion and the reaction. This practice builds self-awareness, reduces reactivity, and supports a more regulated nervous system, especially during moments of stress or uncertainty.

If you’re learning emotion regulation skills or working through difficult feelings, RAIN can be a powerful tool to add to your routine. Our therapists at Lokiten use skills like this every day to help clients strengthen emotional resilience and build healthier patterns.

If you’re looking for a structured yet flexible level of support, our Intensive Outpatient Program may be the right fit. IOP offers a clinically guided environment where individuals can build skills, receive consistent therapeutic support, and maintain their daily routines at the same time.

As a lower level of care, IOP is ideal for those who do not require residential treatment but benefit from more structure than weekly therapy alone. With small-group settings and evidence-based approaches, participants have the opportunity to strengthen emotional regulation, increase insight, and work toward meaningful, sustainable change.

We offer separate programming for adults and adolescents, allowing each group to receive developmentally appropriate support in a safe and therapeutic environment.

If you’re interested in learning more about either program or determining which level of care is the best fit, our team at Lokiten Behavioral Health is here to help.

Today, we’re inviting our community to join us in a Random Acts of Kindness Challenge in honor of World Kindness Day.

At Lokiten Behavioral Health, we talk a lot about connection, community, and showing up for one another. Kindness is one of the simplest ways to support mental well-being, for ourselves and for the people around us.

These small acts may seem simple, but they create moments of safety, care, and human connection that matter more than we realize. Even one thoughtful gesture can shift someone’s entire day.

Here’s the challenge:
Choose at least one circle from the graphic and complete that act of kindness today.
Pick whichever one speaks to you or try more than one if you feel inspired.

When you’re done, come back and tell us:
Which act did you choose, and how did it go?
Your experience might inspire someone else.

At Lokiten Behavioral Health, we recognize that everyone responds to stress differently, and each reaction is your body’s natural way of trying to stay safe.

The Fight, Flight, Freeze, and Fawn responses are instinctive patterns that activate when the nervous system senses danger or overwhelm. These responses can continue to appear in everyday life, shaping how we cope, communicate, and connect, especially when the body has experienced prolonged stress or trauma.

Learning to recognize your own response is the first step toward self-awareness and emotional regulation. When we understand what our body is trying to tell us, we can begin responding with compassion and care, rather than from survival alone.

At Lokiten, our team helps clients explore these patterns and rebuild a sense of safety, balance, and connection within themselves and their relationships.

Today, we pause to honor the incredible men and women who have served our country and to recognize the strength of the families who stand beside them.

At Lokiten Behavioral Health, we are especially proud to celebrate our very own team members who are veterans or military spouses. Their courage, discipline, and compassion shine through in everything they do, reminding us each day of what it truly means to serve others.

Service comes in many forms through sacrifice, resilience, leadership, and the commitment to help others heal and grow. The experiences our veteran staff and their families bring to our team reflect the values of dedication, teamwork, and hope that guide our mission.

To all who have worn the uniform, and to every family who has supported a service member, we thank you. Your strength and service make a lasting impact not only on our nation, but on the lives you touch every day.

Please join us in recognizing and honoring our staff veterans and military spouses pictured here, and all those who continue to serve in visible and unseen ways.

As Veterans Day approaches, we pause to honor those who have served, and to recognize that for many, the battles don’t end when the uniform comes off.

At Lokiten Behavioral Health, we’re committed to providing trauma-informed care for veterans and their families, creating space for healing, understanding, and reconnection. Our clinicians understand that mental health recovery isn’t one-size-fits-all, it’s personal, and it’s brave.

If you or a loved one is seeking support for PTSD, anxiety, depression, or the transition back to civilian life, know that help is available. Healing takes courage, and you don’t have to do it alone.

If your brain’s been running on Wi-Fi instead of rest lately you’re not alone!
We spend so much time online that we forget to log back into real life, sunlight, movement, laughter, and quiet moments that don’t need a screen.

Here’s your reminder: step away when you can, even for a few minutes. Let your mind reset and your body catch up.
Your nervous system will thank you.

Emotional well-being depends on balance, and that means recognizing when your mental, emotional, and physical energy are running low.

“Filling your cup” is more than a saying; it’s a form of self-regulation. Rest, reflection, and meaningful activities help lower stress hormones, support emotional stability, and improve focus and resilience.

At Lokiten Behavioral Health, we encourage clients to see self-care as an active part of recovery and daily functioning, not an afterthought.
When you take time to recharge, you’re strengthening the same systems that help you manage anxiety, maintain healthy relationships, and think clearly under pressure.

Recharging is part of healing, and healing starts when you give yourself permission to pause.
