As we are rolling SO FAST into another year, we all take the time to reflect. Its what we do, right?
I took a lot of time this year to refocus and really look at what we are doing.

There was a time when I just took on new clients and it did not go so well, that comes with the territory. We are all human. And it happens in different industries of course. Buuuttt..... I took it personal a few times for different reasons, then remembered that everyone has different needs & wants and that is OKAY! (so now I ask different questions).

We have done a lot of reflection on the "beginning" and our focus/purpose. Why we made the decision to do "this" and that of course brought on more thinkings ;)
The last six months, I have been very particular about the new clients that we take on.

We have decided to pivot our services a little bit and expand in different ways. Still - the core will always be Insurance Billing along with credentialing/contracting with all the insurance companies! We are going to remain focusing on smaller businesses. That wont change but we are going to do things a little different to better meet the needs of our providers. (if you could see my desk and all the notes I have! yikes! LOL)

For those of you still here, THANK YOU for your trust and confidence. Thank you for listening to my ramblings and Thank you for being, what I consider, a friend!

I have that 2025 was pretty hard for a lot of people and "they say" that 2026 is a year of growth and positivity -- We hope that everyone experiences amazing things!!

Please remember to give yourself grace, kindness, and compassion. You do it for others; do it for yourself ;)

As the year is closing, most of you are making business changes.
What has worked for you?
What do you want to change?

How can you increase revenue and maintain your sanity?

Where is your vacation going to be this year?

One of the many things on plates right now is regarding your staff.
I have had so many questions about w2 vs. 1099 over the years and my answer is always talk to your accountant and your attorney.
I cant advise you one way or the other, but can help when you have a decision or provide some info either way on the logistics with your systems.

I have heard from a few practice owners, they have 1099s but operate like they are employees. Which is definitely a tricky situation.

I saw a post from a colleague and I have included some of it here. Its a great "short and sweet" view. But please .. talk to the right people so you stay compliant :)

Insurances are sending out their "Quarterly" newsletters / updates / Mass Updates.

Carelon sent one out today that basically just is reminding everyone -- UPDATE YOUR CAQH!!!

We personally have had a few former providers reach out to us wondering about things they have done and come to find out - the information hasnt been updated and thus created a lot of headache.
So PLEASE. Make sure that YOUR information is listed. Make sure that your PAST employers are removed from being active. Please make sure that your addresses are correct. Please Please Please!
Check your NPPES - NPI profile as well. Make sure your license has been updated everywhere. Your current liability insurance has been uploaded.
Availity is another site > if you havent logged in and updated that, do it! It also has to be accurate!
If you have taken a cultural competency course - update that (and if you havent -- then take one!)

I also spoke with Renee at Colorado Access > she said that they have updated some of the trainings they have as well. So she HIGHLY recommends that even if you are current > get on their site and take the trainings and updates!!

Medicaid also updates their things -- so go make sure you are up to date on their changes!

Audits are no fun but they are always going ot happen - so make sure that you are being compliant with the requirements so you dont have to do anything extra!!
