On September 17th Smokin' Vets had our final competition of the year. We had a great turn out and six amazing entries. We raised just over $600 for disabled vets in need, a good portion of that from our SV team members, and the generous donations of our supporters. As usual, our spouses and families brought excellent side dishes, all while putting up with our competitors, so they're the real heroes here. Special thanks to Devil or Angel for hosting the event and providing for The Austin Ross Band, and Jenn for coordinating the shenanigans!

If you are, or know a veteran, that's interested in competing or supporting keep an eye on the page for announcements for our members meetings where we discuss and plan upcoming events. Don't be shy, come introduce yourself and we'll get you involved. As always, our competition events are open to the public, so please share the events with your social circles.

Another great competition in the books! Eight great competitors with tons of ribs, four very full judges, excellent side dishes, and plenty of people fed for donations to support our veteran community here in and around Colorado Springs. All leftover food was donated to Rocky Mountain Kids, Inc which really apeciated the food! Thank you to everyone that came out and supported us and The Detour Lounge for hosting! Announcements for the next competition will come soon, and we hope to see y'all there.

Smokin' Vets had our second quarter competition this last Saturday. Chicken quarters and comradery!

Thanks to our supporters, Smokin' Vets was able to donate $350 to Gene and Amanda Wright. Gene (a disabled Navy veteran) and Amanda sadly lost their 3 year old daughter Lilly recently. This humble donation is only one of what we hope to be many to come to support our local veteran community. Thank you for your support of Smokin' Vets as we continue to grow as an organization built on comradery, enjoyment of smokin' great meats, and roasting each other in the process.
