Celebrating 1 year with Salsa! 🎉

Salsa has such a thoughtful way of connecting with each child and family she works with. She takes the time to understand how each child communicates and meets them in a way that feels natural and supportive. Because of that, kids truly enjoy their time with her, and parents feel confident carrying things over into everyday life. As a trilingual therapist, she’s able to connect with even more families in a meaningful way, which makes such a difference in building trust and understanding.

Many families shared that since starting with Salsa they’ve seen progress with communication and have felt more supported overall. She has a way of explaining things so they actually make sense, and it shows in the progress kids are making. Salsa brings that same care to our team, always showing up with consistency, kindness, and a willingness to support others.

Our SLP, Molly, is showing a few great strategies that anyone can use to support language development! ✨

First, she models the sentence “I see…” instead of asking the child to “Say I see…”. This is a great strategy because it takes the pressure off the child while still giving them a clear example of a complete sentence they can copy if they’re ready. Hearing a natural, grammatically correct model helps kids learn how words fit together and build their own sentences over time.

Molly also cues the child to look at her mouth while producing words. Watching how sounds are formed provides strong visual cues that can help children produce all the syllables in a word and better understand how their mouth needs to move to form sounds.

And of course, the activity is play-based and engaging. Play keeps kids motivated and involved, which makes it much easier for them to practice and learn new language skills while having fun.
