This is also applicable to services in El Paso County. It is important that you reach out to us for any communication you may receive from DHS in order for us to help to avoid any disruptions to Medicaid services

HEADS UP, MEDICAID MEMBERS!

You may receive a letter from Health First Colorado (Medicaid) stating they are within 30 days of needing a new Level of Care (LOC) certification, also known as the 100.2 Assessment. The letter may ask you to contact your Case Management Agency to renew your LTSS benefits.

In many cases, this may be a routine reminder, even if your assessment has already been completed.

If you receive this letter and have questions, please contact Medicaid or your assigned Case Manager for clarification. DP is here to support you!

To manage your Health First Colorado coverage, visit CO.gov/PEAK or use the Health First Colorado mobile app.

Learn more about the potential rate cuts to HCBS-DD waiver services.

On March 12, 2026, the legislative committee that writes the state budget—the Colorado Joint Budget Committee (JBC)—will review the portion of the budget that funds Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) through the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) Office of Community Living. Recent estimates suggest they will look at an approximately 4% cut for all Medicaid services, including HCBS and related disability supports. Alliance members have been reaching out to committee members to explain how harmful a 4% across-the-board rate cut would be for their agencies and the people they support. You can learn more about these concerns in our public newsletter: https://mailchi.mp/alliancecolorado/4cutpublicnewsletter031126

At Common Roots, we proudly stand with individuals with developmental disabilities, their families, and the communities that support them. This month — and every month — we celebrate the strengths, talents, achievements, and contributions of people of all abilities.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month was established in 1987 by President Ronald Reagan to promote understanding, inclusion, and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities to live full and meaningful lives in their communities.

Inclusion matters. Representation matters. Respect matters.

Join us in raising awareness, breaking down barriers, and creating a community where everyone belongs. 💙

Most of all, I love being an IDD nurse because it blends clinical skill with compassion and advocacy. It allows me to use my medical knowledge while honoring each person’s individuality and right to live with respect and autonomy -Melissa Albert RN, CDDN

So proud of our amazing staff who spent time today volunteering in the kitchen at the Springs Rescue Mission ❤️

Serving others, giving back, and supporting our community is part of who we are — and today was a great reminder of the impact a few helping hands can make.

Grateful for a team that shows up not just for the individuals we serve, but for our community as a whole. 💙

It’s National Caregivers Day, and we want to shine a light on the heart of our agency — our caregivers.

Supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is not just a job. It’s relationship-building. It’s advocacy. It’s patience. It’s encouragement. It’s celebrating independence and honoring choice.

To our incredible team and to family caregivers who partner with us — thank you for the compassion, resilience, and dedication you bring to this mission.

Because of you, people thrive.
