Anton “Dee” Evans
Born March 28, 1960, Geneva, New York.
Died January 7, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Anton 'Dee' was a charming and total character that always shed a special light on any event he attended. His sense of humor and wry laugh always filled a room. He was a fun-loving brother, uncle and friend. Dee was a storyteller who often shared his wisdom with sarcasm and wit, especially the many stories that were told about how he lost his finger.
He loved to ride his Harley and drive fast cars – his Trans Am and Corvette and wasn’t afraid to take passengers along for ‘the ride of their life’. Dee had a gift that once he set his mind and attention toward something he became exceptionally good at it, including golf and billiards.
His greatest joy in life was being a ‘bonus dad’ to his stepchildren with every aspect that entailed… everyday life, showing up to every game, activity, teaching them to drive and being there for the ‘life lessons’, being able to walk his daughter down the wedding aisle, the heartbreak of losing Tad and being ‘Granton’ to all his grandchildren.
Dee graduated from Widefield High School in 1978 and later from Pikes Peak Community College with a Criminal Justice degree. He had so many adventures including working in call centers, manufacturing facilities and many bars and restaurants. He spent over 20 years with the Colorado Department of Corrections at the Limon Corrections facility and retired as a Case Manager II in 2019. Anton even appeared on the television show “Locked Up”!
Dee’s departure from this world was quick and unexpected. We will forever miss him in our lives and will cherish the moments we had with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robley and Eunice and his stepson, Tad Butler. Dee is survived by his three brothers and their wives Arthur Jan (Rosalie) Evans, Jon (Stacy) Evans, Eric (Julie) Evans, nieces and nephews Christina Doll, Robin Evans, Spencer Evans, Chloe Mauch, Stephanie Gordon, and Mitchel Evans. His stepchildren Tanner (Shelby) Taylor, Ashton (Cody) Harrison as well as grandchildren Lulu, Maximus, Holden, and Rory and grand nieces and nephews; Titan Doll, Chloe and Parker Gordon, Mary and Jack Evans.
We are grateful and fortunate that he shared his life with us.
A celebration of life will be held on Dee’s birthday, March 28, 2026. Details to follow.

Mardella Cora Johnson Bergquist
July 30, 1932 – January 4, 2026
Mardella Cora Johnson Bergquist passed away on the morning of January 4, 2026, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mardella was born 93 years ago to Jacob and Wilma (Doud) Johnson in Slayton, Minnesota. Mardella is survived by her brother; Louis and sister-in-law, Donna; and four of her five children, Michael, Bruce, Milton, and Brenda. She has eight living grandchildren: Lindsey, Alesha, Cora-lin, Kristine, Jess, Matt, Kaitlin and Jamison; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Jacob (Jay) and Wilma; siblings, Ernest, Corrine (sister-in-law), Sylvia, Dean (brother-in-law); husband, Charlie; son, Rodney; and grandson, Zachary.
Mardella worked many jobs throughout her life, primarily with data processing and computers. She was on the team of one of the first ballistic missile contractors while working at Ramo-Wooldridge (a predecessor to Northrop Grumman) in Golden, CO, as a keypunch operator in the 1960s. She also worked in the computer departments at North Dakota State School of Science (NDSSS, now NDSCS) in Wahpeton, ND; St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN, and The Daily News, in Wahpeton, ND. She got her CNA license after she moved to Colorado Springs in 1990, where she retired and spent her last few years taking care of her husband and grandchildren.
Mardella loved her family, friends, music and Jesus. She positively touched the hearts and lives of all those she came in contact with and brightened the lives of anyone lucky enough to meet her. After her husband passed in 2018 and the COVID pandemic hit in 2020, her favorite things to do were to go to the YMCA to work the rowing machine (she was freakishly strong) and go out to eat at her favorite bar and grills to drink ginger ale, eat guacamole, soup, desserts and “talk sh!t.”
A funeral or memorial service will be held on or near her birthday, July 30, 2026, in Colorado Springs. More to come on that. As Mardella would say, we will “See you later, Alligator!”

In Loving Memory of Caroline Follosco-Barnett October 28, 1974 – December 27, 2025
Caroline was more than a name we will always cherish—she was a blessing to everyone whose presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort to everyone she met.
Caroline found deep peace in nature. She loved the mountains, open skies, and quiet trails where her soul felt closest to God. In the outdoors, she breathed freely, reflected deeply, and found healing in every sunrise and still moment. Whether walking among trees or gazing at distant peaks, she carried that same calm and grounding presence back into the lives of those she loved.
As a devoted daughter, she gave her love generously and honored her family through her kindness, generosity and faith.
As the eldest sister, she was a steady source of strength, compassion, and understanding, always ready to listen and to give encouragement.
As a loving friend, Caroline shared a heart that welcomed all and a spirit that reflected genuine care for others. Though our hearts grieve her passing, we find comfort in God’s promise: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18). We also hold on to the hope found in Christ, who reminds us, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die” (John 11:25). As we mourn, we trust in God’s assurance that “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (Matthew 5:4).
Caroline now rests in God’s eternal peace, embraced by His unfailing love. Though deeply missed, she will live on forever in our hearts until we are reunited again.

John Daniel Linder

June 9, 1956 – December 22, 2025

John Daniel Linder, a loving father and grandfather, passed away on December 22, 2025. Born on June 9, 1956, in Springfield, Missouri, John led a life filled with diverse experiences and profound connections.

Having served in the United States Army, John exemplified dedication and loyalty in all facets of his life. His passions were as diverse as his experiences – he found solace and joy in fishing, cheered passionately for the Denver Broncos, and followed NASCAR with fervor, especially admiring the legendary drive of Dale Earnhardt Sr.

John possessed a green thumb like no other, able to coax life from the earth with ease. His knack for gardening was matched only by his culinary skills; his biscuits and gravy and lemon meringue pie were legendary among those fortunate enough to taste them. A creative soul, John had a talent for fixing and crafting things, a skill that endeared him to many. He cherished the William W. Johnstone Preacher series books and savored refreshing Sunkist slushies.

Throughout his career in construction, management in the food service industry, and home health care, John left an indelible mark of professionalism and care. But perhaps his greatest legacy lies in the lessons he imparted as a father. To his daughter Krista, John gave the gift of perspective – teaching her to look forward with hope and determination while acknowledging the influence of the past.

In his journey, John shared a deep connection with his long-time companion Rose, who has preceded him in death. John is survived by his daughter Krista, his son-in-law Mike, his grandsons Gabe and Bas, his cherished neighbors turned family, Kim and Megan, his dear friend and ex-wife Linda, who shares in his passion for animals, several relatives in Colorado and Missouri, and his beloved chihuahua, Lola, who brought him constant companionship and unconditional love. His memory will be carried forward by those who were privileged to know him, and his spirit will continue to inspire and guide those who loved him.

Though John may no longer be physically present, the memories of his kindness and humor will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. John's spirit will continue to live on through the lessons he imparted and the love he shared with those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. Rest in peace and say hello to Rose, John. May your next adventure bring you comfort and peace.
