and entertainment. Mostly self taught with an exceptional memory who continued to learn and grow always
hungry for knowledge, yet humble.

our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, up to his last breath.

Ashley Allen
March 1986 - November 2025

Ashley was a remarkably empathetic soul who enriched the lives of everyone she encountered with her profound love and understanding. Possessing a natural gift for healing from a very young age, she dedicated her life to this calling, serving as an EMT, a social worker in many fields including hospice and emergency services, a gifted and compassionate therapist, and a loving mother and aunt. Inspired by a deep passion for trauma recovery, she made extensive and lasting contributions across the fields of cultic studies, extremism, prison reform, veterans affairs, and domestic violence by providing therapy for survivors, developing programs, authoring articles, and coordinating on global initiatives. Her life was a testament to the profound impact one person can have: she changed countless lives through an extraordinary lifetime of service.

Ashley was preceded in death by her father Roger Arnold. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Kai Allen, who was her whole world and to whom she dedicated her heart; her sister Heather Zweiback; and her nephew and niece, Andrew and Lexi Zweiback.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no funeral services.

"My love is not gone — it is changing form. Watch for me in the quiet, in the wild, in the still moments when your heart aches. I will be there.
When you miss me, speak to me. I’ll be listening.
When you cry, let the tears come. They are holy.
When you laugh, know that I am close."

Alyn Kerry Furlong, August 19, 1949 - November 9, 2025

Alyn Kerry Furlong passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado Springs, CO with his children by his side on November 9, 2025 following a long illness. Born August 19, 1949 in Chicago, IL, his family moved to Calumet City, IL where he attended high school. Throughout his life, he was responsible for many important assignments and held many unique positions. From his first job as paper boy to his final role as Network Design Engineer at the Missile Defense Agency, Alyn was always searching for alternative methods to improve processes until they operated faster, easier, and less expensively. Whether it was a small woodworking project or an entire home renovation, he amazed us with his abilities to build, repair, and create masterpieces from scratch. Alyn had a creative mind and a sharp wit and was not shy about sharing his opinions with strangers.

As a veteran, proud father of three United States Marines, and grandparent of both a Navy veteran and an Air Force Airman, Alyn was an outspoken advocate for service members and veterans’ rights. He was an avid learner and innovator, who used his own GI Bill to pave the way for a successful computer science career following active-duty service in the United States Air Force as a Radio Relay Equipment Repair Technician. He helped to install the first “network” of computers and was truly proud of his decades in the industry working as a hardware, software, and network design engineer.

Alyn travelled all around the world for business and leisure. He lived, worked, and taught abroad in places such as Alaska, Australia, Italia, Malta, and Turkey. Alyn’s claim to fame was that he had traveled to every continent but South America and Antarctica and he had the passport stamps to prove it. Sampling local beverages and cuisine was part of Alyn’s adventurous nature. Sharing food was his love language. He enjoyed making new friends and any opportunity to cook meals for them.

Relocating to Colorado in November 1983 was one of the most transformational aspects of his life. He discovered a place where he truly felt at home. Friends and family would recall that Alyn liked to remind anyone in earshot as he gazed at the mountains that the Katharine Lee Bates song had come to life, “Look! It’s America the Beautiful!” He raised his family in the foothills of the Front Range where he also made some amazing friends who became his family during his life, especially members of the Pikes Peak Hash House Harriers and Harriettes.

Alyn was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Moina Furlong, brother Richard Furlong, sisters Leslee Ciecierski and Vera Seydel, and cousin Danial Stokan. He is survived by his daughter Judith Darcy, granddaughter Dallas, grandson-in-law Shay, granddaughter Jessica and great-granddaughter Ariel; daughter Tegan Owen, son-in-law Joshua, two grandsons Kobi and Braden; son Neal Furlong; son Terence Furlong, daughter-in-law Jenna, grandsons David and Mason, and granddaughter Penelope; brother Bill; stepmother Rebecca; former wives Michele Nesbitt, Lorraine Ward, and Betty Flory; siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, their spouses and children; as well as many friends whom he considered family.

A memorial service with military honors will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 12pm at Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, CO, 80925.
