Try a few minutes of YouTube humor therapy when you’re stomping your feet waiting in line or fuming over a work or family situation. It’s difficult not to smile while watching a favorite funny video.
👍Practice reframing! Instead of stressing about a traffic jam appreciate the fact that you can afford a car and get to spend a few extra minutes listening to music or a podcast, accepting that there is absolutely nothing you can do about the traffic.
👍Morning ritual! Begin your day by setting positive intentions through affirmations. Stand in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes, and recite affirmations that resonate with you. Affirmations like "I am worthy," "I am capable," or "I attract positivity into my life" can kickstart your day on a positive note.

Today I woke up with a fever.

Feeling under the weather isn’t an if - but a when. A universal experience none of us can avoid.

Frustrating? Yeah, for sure.

Especially when we have GOALS and LIFE we are trying to do.

So, what do you do?

Obviously our bodies need nutrients and vitamins and what not in order to be healthy and capable. And that’s how we start to feel better 🙂

At the same time forcing down 3-day-old-meal-prepped-chicken may not be on your radar with a scratchy throat.

Can we do both? Can we have what we want, what feels comforting, AND what we need?

Today’s sick day menu:
* Yogurt
* 3 pumpkin cheesecake coffee cake bites (yes they’re as good as they sound)
* Chips and salsa
* Salad
* Sugar cookie
* Cereal
* Chicken Alfredo from the precooked section of the grocery store
* A lot of vitamins and water and tea!

And I’m sure as s**t not doing the lower body workout or yoga I originally had planned.

Did I fail? Am I doomed? I dunno - that’s up to you

What if 1 or 2 days wasn’t the end all? What if you can reprioritize your needs when life looks different for a couple days?

I was talking with another coach the other day about how added sugar is in almost everything that is prepackaged. Companies will even use different types of sugar in one product, all with different names, to make products appear lower in sugar. Lame of them.

I’ve personally played around with sugar intake and I can honestly tell you when I have less added sugars daily - my desire for it drops. Now after a couple days of baked goods, on the go eating, and cocktails I just want MOOREEEE. Not all that surprising 😛 Now don’t confuse this with sugars we find in fruits and other whole foods - we need those!

For these reasons I usually recommend Rx Bars for a simple snack. Made of whole foods and zero added sugar (!!!!) they make for a great option.

Finished up Precision Nutrition’s level 1 Sleep, Stress Management, and Recovery course. I wanted to add this certification to my toolbox in order to help others improve in ALL areas of health. I’m all about a holistic and sustainable approach and that is exactly how Precision Nutrition does it!

POV you see me out reminding you is starts wherever you want it to!!

Last night I decided I wanted to re start on a behavior I haven’t done in awhile. I decided I wanted to start this morning.

I wasn’t prepared with all the right things.
I wasn’t set up to execute this perfectly.

But I was ready to start.

So this won’t be “perfect” from the get go. But honestly, even if I was as prepped as I could be, it still wouldn’t happen perfectly.

As a coach I don’t believe perfection exists🫣

But getting started, fumbling around, figuring what doesn’t work, is the only way we can figure out what DOES work.

“Wellness is the act of practicing healthy habits on a daily basis to attain better physical and mental health outcomes, so that instead of just surviving, you're thriving.”

There are endless opportunities and outlets on what we can do to keep our physical and mental health in tip top shape. Journaling has been a great tool for keeping my mental in check. Whether it is a to do list, keeping track of appointments, jotting down quick thoughts, jotting down heavy thoughts, my journal has seen it all. Food logs track what we put in to our body and a journal tracks what we have in our mind and heart. And there are SO MANY different ways to do this. In a calendar planner. Guided journal. Notes app on your phone. I have found keeping a notebook in my daily bag works best for me. At the beginning of each month I open to the next blank page and start filling up the lines. A page for my calendar, page for lists, page for thoughts, and so on. How you decide to journal is just that, whatever you decide! Figuring out what works best for you.

A healthy you is a happy you

For anyone who has a nice notebook, a good pen, and no clue where to begin.
