During Musk's interview with Trump, where Musk repeatedly tried to get Trump to talk about the new position he wants in the government, Trump said this:
"Wind and different things, you're not gonna have anything. And I know you're a big fan of the AI, and I have to say that AI, and this is shocking to me, but AI requires twice the energy that the country already produces for everything.
"So you're gonna have to build, we're gonna have to build a lot of energy if our country will be competitive with China, because that's our primary competitor for this on the AI.
You're gonna need a lot of electricity. You're gonna need tremendous electricity, almost double what we produce now for the whole country, if you can believe it."
This is why Agenda 47 item 1 is to deregulate energy.
Elon Musk again tried to steer Trump to inviting him to spearhead an “Efficiency commission.”
Musk replied:
“Sure. Well, just going back to this basic thing, which is that people try to make it sound complicated, but it's not, but inflation is caused by government overspending [This is entirely false]. Would you agree that we need to take a look at government spending and have, perhaps, a government efficiency commission that just tries to make the spending sensible and so that the country lives within its means, just like a person does?”
Finally, Trump heard Musk and agreed that he would "love that" [offering the position to Musk]. That's when Trump bragged Musk was the "greatest cutter" and fired all workers for going on strike.
During Trump’s first term, he deregulated the fossil fuel industries and now West Virginians are dying en masse from the fallout.
They have the highest and youngest death rate in the country.
This is terrifying.
Listen, I’ve spent 25 years in hard activism. I have outlived just about everyone I’ve worked with. My activism has never been about the environment, though it’s always been important to me.
But whatever that’s done politically can often be undone or reworked or improved in a future term. This can’t be undone. There's no fighting for a better future when the water is so poisoned that only the richest can escape it.
Poisoned water leads to poisoned soil and it flows into other watersheds. It'll be in your towns eventually.
Image of the wreckage after the Buffalo Creek Flood in my hometown of Logan, WV, when a dam holding millions of gallons of toxic industrial waste called coal slurry decimated my hometown and killed over 100 residents and injured over 1,000. It left 4,000 Poor people homeless.
The flood was a result of deregulation.
