November is Diabetes Awareness Month!
If anyone is looking for a place to donate funds for a great cause before the end of the year, please consider donating to a group of incredible school nurses whom I work with who support kids with diabetes in Colorado.

Colorado Kids with Diabetes is sponsored by the non-profit Diabetes Resource Nurses of Colorado which was created in 2006 as a collaborative effort to support school nurses and all Colorado School Districts in their management of students with diabetes. This year they are also part of the Colorado Give Campaign!

There are 3 ways to donate:
www.coloradogives.org and search for "Colorado Kids with Diabetes"

Or go directly to our website at coloradokidswithdiabetes.org

This was just posted today so I thought I would pass the news onto you!! Great job JDRF!

"The Barbara Davis Center strongly recommends the COVID-19 vaccination to all people with T1D, including those who have been previously diagnosed with COVID-19. People with T1D are prioritized to receive the vaccine in Colorado, thanks to the lobbying led by the JDRF Mountain West Chapter, CDF and BDC.

For details, please visit: jdrf.org/mountainwest/2021/02/11/t1d-covid19-vaccine-distribution-in-colorado/

If you have had a severe adverse reaction to another vaccine, or a history of anaphylaxis, talk with your health care provider prior to signing up for the vaccine."

Good afternoon fellow DM's! :) Wanted to share a link (thank you Julie) about T1D and the coronavirus. We all do need to take extra precautions to keep from getting sick from any virus or other sickness! However, if you are well-managed your risk factor is not much greater than the general public so no need to panic! The main thing is to make sure you ARE well-managed (not perfectly, but well).

During this time I am offering virtual (zoom, skype, facetime) sessions at a reduced price. Please contact me if you are wanting to schedule an individual or family appointment.

Have a blessed week as we navigate thorugh this craziness! :)
Andrea

As news spreads about COVID-19 also known as the Novel Coronavirus, we urge the T1D community to stay up to date on the latest news.
