Substance abuse can break the bonds of trust between people we depend on: trust between an individual, their family, friends and themselves. When these bonds get broken, it only works to alienate and isolate the person even more.

Our programs bring people back into community. First, into a treatment environment where trust builds between the individual and their caregivers. As healing progresses, that trust extends to others in recovery, the world at large and most importantly, to themselves.

Join us for a CE session led by Harmonie Kerkow, MS, LPC. This training introduces the fundamentals of how art therapy engages different areas of the brain and supports emotional processing. Last week, we welcomed Rep. Jeff Crank to Cedar Springs Hospital for a conversation about mental health and substance use treatment for active‑duty service members, their families and Veterans.

Colorado Springs is home to a strong military community, and supporting access to behavioral health services remains an important priority. We appreciated the opportunity to share our work, discuss current needs and highlight the importance of continued support for those who serve.
