Enagic Distributors: Saw a post regarding the 2.5 pH Sanitizing Water and thought I would share some newly discovered revelations. I have done some recent tests with the actual test strips used by most Health Departments and, to my surprise, the strongest smelling 2.5 pH water did not retain the sanitizing power of freshly made 2.5 pH water. Unlike the 11.5 pH water, which seems to get stronger and more effective with age, the 2.5 pH may get a stronger smell as it ages, but the thing that gives it the ability to kill germs diminishes as it gets older. Actually, it kind of makes sense because the thing that kills the germs is the chlorine concentration in the water. The reason you can smell the chlorine so much in aged 2.5 pH water is that a lot of the chlorine has actually left the water, which reduces the effectiveness of the water, and is why it has such a strong odor. It actually came as a big surprise to me, but I personally tested this and, despite even my own beliefs to the contrary, when it comes to the 2.5 pH, fresh is best and the aged, strong smelling stuff is great to illustrate the germ killing potential to a prospect, but when it comes to use, it is actually much less effective!!
