Dr. Chung quipped, "When my wife and CEO says 'jump,' it's a good idea to jump. Even if it’s a traditional bamboo dance in Vietnam."

Did you know snow reflects up to 80% of UV rays? ❄️

That means when you’re skiing, snowboarding, or hiking in the winter, you’re getting hit from above and below.

This intense, often underestimated double-dose of UV radiation combined with Colorado’s higher altitude makes winter sunburns, eye damage, and premature skin aging surprisingly common, even on cloudy days.

How to protect your skin this winter:

• Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ every single day, especially on the nose, ears, and under the chin
• Wear UV-protective goggles or sunglasses to prevent snow blindness
• Cover up with hats, helmets, and face coverings whenever possible

Winter sun is still sun. Protect your skin year-round 🤍

Did you know Colorado has hard water?

If your skin always feels tight after you shower… if you’re moisturizing but still dry… if you’re breaking out for no clear reason… it might not be your products. It might be your water.

Colorado water is rich in calcium and magnesium. These minerals leave behind a film on your skin that strips natural oils, clogs pores, and makes it harder for your cleanser to fully rinse off.

What that can look like:
• persistent dryness and itchiness
• eczema or psoriasis flares
• clogged pores and breakouts
• increased sensitivity
• fine lines that seem to show up faster

Hard water can also disrupt your skin barrier and contribute to collagen breakdown over time.

What you can do:
• consider a whole-home water softener if possible
• try a showerhead filter if you’re in an apartment
• switch to gentle, soap-free cleansers
• apply moisturizer immediately after showering while skin is still damp

If you’re noticing soap scum on your shower doors, brittle hair, or skin that never feels fully clean, hard water could be the culprit.

Not all skin issues start with skincare. Sometimes they start with your tap. 💧

Big things are coming to Pueblo 🤍
We officially broke ground on our expansion at 5700 N. Elizabeth St., adding a new ambulatory surgery center and specialty suites so we can provide even more for our patients here in Southern Colorado.
A heartfelt thank you to Mayor Heather Graham, City of Pueblo, Colorado - City Government our incredible partners at YOW Architects and Colarelli Construction, Inc., and to the many leaders and community members who have supported us over the years.

A few days ago, our senior MAs Darian and Dorothy gave an informational presentation at a local senior living community, educating residents on skin cancer: how to prevent it, how we treat it, and why early detection matters. We love reaching into our community to provide education, raise awareness, and help people feel informed and empowered about their health. ⚕️

Founder Dr. Vinh Chung, once a Vietnamese refugee rescued at sea, is now investing millions into Pueblo’s health care future.
