Full disclosure sounds like the key to rebuilding trust. But what if it’s actually making things worse? This video explains why full disclosure often fails and why factual disclosure is a better, more effective approach to healing and rebuilding trust.

Many partners feel lost after discovering betrayal. The uncertainty, the “dribble effect” of half-truths, and the fear of ongoing deception make recovery nearly impossible. Studies show that 42% of men still withhold secrets even after a so-called full disclosure, leaving their partners in a cycle of doubt and trauma.

Dr. Doug Weiss introduce the concept of factual disclosure: a structured process that provides the necessary facts without unnecessary details that retraumatize. If you or someone you know is struggling with betrayal trauma, this video will help you understand the best way to move forward for both partners.

Friendsgiving at Heart to Heart!

Our team gathered around the table for food, laughter, and a little bit of “please don’t analyze my plate.”

Betrayal trauma is real and hits deep, especially within a relationship. When you’ve experienced your partner’s infidelity, s*x addiction, or intimacy anorexia, it impacts you on every level—spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The pain it causes runs deeper than words can express, and it can manifest in ways that are both obvious and hidden.

As a licensed psychologist and expert in betrayal trauma recovery, Dr. Doug Weiss has helped individuals and couples navigate the aftermath of betrayal. In this video, he explores the symptoms and impact of betrayal trauma, which include low self-esteem, grief, anxiety, and even PTSD. He also shares compassionate, practical tools to help you begin your healing journey.

You did not cause your spouse’s addiction or betrayal, nor are you responsible for their choices. Healing begins when you choose to focus on your own recovery and start rebuilding your life.

To get connected with a certified partner betrayal trauma therapist who understands the pain, grief, and loss that you have experienced and will professionally walk with you through the process towards healing, contact our office at 719-278-3708.

Too many people rely on assumptions or online checklists to label their partners as narcissists. But real healing starts with clarity—and clarity begins with measurement. Discover the importance of assessing narcissism correctly and not confusing symptoms of addiction or intimacy anorexia with something more permanent.

Yyou might feel overwhelmed, confused, or even question your reality due to your partner. However, there a path toward healing, not just emotionally, but neurologically. In this clip I offer assessments, counseling, support groups, and other resources that you can use. Whether you're married, divorced, or unsure of your next step, you are not alone.

You've made the decision to stop watching po*******hy. You've bought the books, you've registered for support groups, and you've even looked into different therapists.

This is great! You've planted the seed of recovery, but you must water it.

This means making a plan and following through. Thoroughly read the recovery materials you bought - don't rush through them.

Educate yourself about this addiction and how it impacts your spouse.

Follow through with your support group meetings.

Maintain transparency with your accountability partner and call him or her on a regular basis.

Be honest with your spouse.

During your first appointment with your therapist or coach schedule the next two months worth of sessions.

DO NOT lie or omit information to your therapist or coach.

Every time you follow through with these recovery efforts you are watering the seed of recovery that started with a single decision to stop watching po*******hy.

You will grow.
You will get stronger.
Eventually you'll be able to pour your knowledge, experience, and healthy recovery experience into others who may be at the very beginning of their journey.

If you're in the "decision" phase and looking for a concrete plan, this Freedom set can help: https://www.drdougweiss.com/product/s*x-addict-recovery-set/ or give my team a call and they can get you scheduled with a recovery coach or therapist.

One of the biggest lies men believe is that po*******hy doesn’t hurt anyone. In this video, Dr. Doug Weiss reveal how destructive that belief really is and how p**n impacts marriages and families.

From decades of counseling, Dr. Doug has seen how wives silently suffer the consequences of their husbands’ s*xual behaviors. From plummeting self-esteem to depression and even weight gain, the fallout of p**n addiction cuts deeply into a woman’s identity, confidence, and well-being. When a man turns to p**n, his wife always pays a price.

But it doesn’t stop with wives. Their children are impacted and can carry scars into adulthood. They end up struggling with depression, low self-esteem, spiritual brokenness, and in many cases, becoming addicts themselves.

Don't let p**n hurt the people you love most. Take the next step toward healing for both you and your family. Freedom is possible, and it starts with honesty.

If you or someone you know is struggling with s*x/p**n addiction, contact Heart to Heart Counseling Center at 719-278-3708 or email heart2heart@xc.org to make an appointment with a certified therapist in this area. For accelerated recovery and healing, ask about our 3 and 5 Day Intensives which provide a lot of help in a short amount of time.
