Let’s look at some ergonomic eye exercises to keep your vision in top shape. 👁️‍🗨️

☑️ Blink
Research has shown that when we are looking at a luminous screen, our blink rate drops significantly. With that in mind, take a few moments to blink when you’re sitting at your computer screen consciously. Blinking slowly over a 20-second period can also help.

☑️ Focus Away
Because staring at a screen or your phone keeps your gaze locked about 15 to 20 inches in front of you, it’s important to take a few minutes and focus on something a bit further away. This helps relax your ciliary muscle and improves your ability to focus on things that are closer to your face.

☑️ Follow the 20/20/20 Guide
For every 20 minutes that you spend working at a computer or using a smartphone or tablet, focus on something at least 20 feet away for 20 seconds. This helps “refresh” your eyes and can help minimize the stress and fatigue they experience.

Although the VA doesn’t cover the costs of contact lenses, family members may prefer to use this form of corrective vision over glasses.

Rest assured that our opticians provide a complete eye exam to help you choose the best contact lenses for your vision needs. Most people can wear any contact lens they choose. It’s important to learn as much information about the contact lens options to choose the best product for your corrective vision needs.
