Massachusetts – Kratom Regulation Hearing
Bill: H.2454 – An Act concerning the regulation of kratom
When: Tuesday, November 18th – 1:00 PM–5:00 PM
Where: Hearing Room A-1
Massachusetts is considering a Kratom Consumer Protection Act–style regulation that would set standards for safe kratom products rather than banning them.
If you can attend in person, your presence in A-1 helps show that kratom consumers are paying attention.
California – Urgent Local Threats in Fresno County & Fresno City
California continues to face serious local threats, including efforts to ban kratom instead of regulate it. Two key meetings are happening this week:
Fresno County: Proposed ordinance to regulate and prohibit kratom sales in unincorporated areas – Meeting on November 18th
Fresno City: Local meeting on kratom – Meeting on November 20th
If you live in California (or especially in the Fresno area):
Go to the California Protect Kratom Page for full details, talking points, and instructions on emailing local officials:
👉Protect Kratom in California Page Link- https://www.protectkratom.org/california
Please Send emails before the meetings.
-Be sure to include the meeting date and the specific agenda item in the subject line as instructed on the Protect Kratom site.
-Attend in person if you’re able—local decisions like these can set precedents for the rest of the state (and even the country).
Ohio – Kratom Consumer Protection Act (KCPA) Hearing
Bill: S.B. 299 – Regards sales of kratom products
When: Tuesday, November 18th – 2:00 PM
Where: Senate Building
This is an important Ohio KCPA hearing, but public testimony is not being accepted for this session. The AKA legislative Team is very active in Ohio.
Even if your state isn’t listed above, you can still:
Stay alert for local and state kratom actions.
Make sure you’re signed up for advocacy updates from kratom organizations.
Share action alerts and educational resources with friends, family, and social media communities.
Kratom policy is being shaped right now, and what happens in one state often influences what happens in others. Your voice—your emails, calls, and attendance—really does make a difference.
