Happy National Healthcare Foodservice Workers Wee. Merissa has been a part of our Miller's family for five years and serves as our Dietary Manager! Her favorite meal to make at home is beef and noodles with homemade mashed potatoes – comfort food at its finest. When it comes to cooking for our residents, she loves preparing meatloaf with baked mac and cheese – a crowd favorite!

When asked what inspired her to get into cooking, Merissa said, "Because I love to cook and bake!" Her favorite part about working at Miller's? "I love making the residents happy."

We're so grateful for all the care and heart Merissa puts into every meal she makes!

Linda Atkinson has been a part of our Oak Pointe family for a little over three years. She first came to us when she broke her wrist and chose our Miller's community for rehab. After her recovery, Linda decided to make Oak Pointe Assisted Living her home and moved into one of our cozy one-bedroom apartment.

When asked what she enjoys the most about living here, she shared that she never feels alone. There is always someone near by to help if needed and to talk to. We are very grateful to have Linda as apart of our community. Her warmth and joy brighten our facility each day.

On September 24th, we celebrated National Women's Health and Fitness Day here at Oak Pointe!

We took a few of our residents to the Fort Wayne Glenbrook Mall, which they said they had not been to in years. They couldn't get over how everything had changed, but they enjoyed eating lunch at the food court, walking around, and stopping at a few stores. They were tired by the end of their walk, but said it was worth coming to the mall and remembering the good ole days.

Here at Oak Pointe Assisted Living, our Housekeepers provide daily attention to common areas, ensuring spaces are spotless and inviting. Weekly cleaning of residents apartments including dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, changing linens, and washing them to bringing them back to your room and they will even put them away for you. It gives residents more time to focus on what matters most-enjoying life, activities, and friendships.
