It has been a remarkable year. We recognized CNAs during National Nursing Assistants Week, celebrated Jill and Jory from our dietary team for National Foodservice Workers Week, and proudly saw Kylie honored by hospice for her care and dedication. We had some fun with Jaden guessing how many cheese balls were in the jar, raised money for the Alzheimer’s Association's Walk to End Alzheimer's, and enjoyed sunshine and quality time with our community. Who could forget when fall arrived and we had drawings for fun fall baskets? And of course, the 2025 Nurses Ball, attended by Stephanie VanAuken, Tiffany Sorg, Jerilynn Johnson, and Nurse Practitioner, Melissa Parker.

It’s been a busy and rewarding year. We are looking forward to 2026!

Marla Haberstock was a resident who came to Miller's at Oak Pointe for short-term rehab. Marla said, "If I ever had to come to a skilled nursing facility again this would be the place I would want to come to. This place is great. Everyone was helpful and attending. Everyone always making me feel comfortable. I knew I was going to have pain, but they lessened it. Thank you!"

Staff wore their "ugly" Christmas sweaters for National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day – though not everyone followed the assignment! Our residents had fun choosing their favorite sweaters and picking the winner.

Pamela Miller, our Office Manager, was the grand prize winner, taking home a Christmas candle as her prize for the favorite sweater!

We’re proud to share that at last month’s annual Millers Assisted Living meeting, our assisted living campus, Oak Pointe Assisted Living, was recognized for maintaining over 90% occupancy! This milestone reflects the trust our residents and families place in us and the exceptional care our team provides every single day!

We can’t thank our residents and families enough for choosing Oak Pointe. And a big thank you to our amazing staff! Each of you help make this community the wonderful place it is!

Last week was National Handwashing Awareness Week!

Here at Miller's at Oak Pointe, we practice cleanliness by washing our hands! 🧼 It is very important to wash your hands frequently. It really does help prevent the spreading of germs. Reminder while washing your hands – sing the ABC song!

We are moving into the Christmas season, our hearts are still full of gratitude. We are thankful for our staff, our residents, our families, and our co-workers. Thank you all for everything you do and for spending meaningful time with family and loved ones.

Please join us in celebrating these two amazing Churubusco High School students, Hanna Campbell and Zoey Duddy, who recently passed the CNA exams! Through a collaborative partnership between the school and Oak Pointe, these students gained hands-on training, real world experience, and the confidence to take this important step toward their future in healthcare.

We are very proud of their hard work and dedication. Their achievement is a testament to what's possible when schools and community partnership work together to support success! Way to go, Hannah and Zoey!
