Hello, Erik Digby, PT here. I wanted to talk a little about treating pain. As a pain and spine PT, I have worked with many clients who have tried many different treatments but were still struggling with pain.
Chronic pain is more than just the sense of pain. Pain has hijacked your nervous system and your body perceives pain as life threatening, causing you to shift into “fight or flight.” Once here, any stress is seen as a threat to survival and you sense more pain. Over time, you can become distraught and lose hope. So, how do we treat this?
Treatment such as Craniosacral Therapy can help get you out of fight or flight and allow your body to feel safe again. Movement therapy can help you feel in control as you regain activity and begin to return to normal life. My skills as a manual therapist and mentor are what set me apart and gets results.
