It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear alumna, colleague, and friend, Mareesha Phillips — an extraordinary doula in the DMV, a proud graduate of The Black Doula Training, and our trusted legal advisor for over 3 years.

Mareesha’s impact was profound. As a doula, she served families with unmatched compassion, skill, and dedication. Her work brought comfort, empowerment, and safety to countless birthing spaces in our community. As one of our alumni, she carried forward the values and excellence we strive to instill, representing The Black Doula Training with pride and grace. And as our legal advisor, she fiercely protected our mission, offered wise counsel, and guided us through seasons of growth and challenge.

📣 DOULA TRAINING FAQS — What You Should Know! 💡
Thinking about becoming a doula? Start your journey with The Black Doula Training, Maryland’s Top-Rated Doula Education Program. Here are the most asked questions we get:

🔸 Is this training online or in person?
98% of our trainings are self-paced online, with a 2% in-person skills & drills workshop required for hands-on certification.

🔸 How long do I have to finish the course?
You’ll receive a training agreement upon enrollment, outlining your personalized deadline based on your selected course track.

🔸 When do I get certified?
Certification is granted after successful completion of all online modules, assignments, quizzes, and the final skills assessment. Submitting your work doesn’t mean you’re done — we still have to grade, average, and approve your progress before issuing a certificate!

🔸 Are payments refundable?
No. Once you receive your student login credentials, services are considered rendered. All fees, deposits, and payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.

🔸 Can I lose certification eligibility?
Yes — students who violate our contract, plagiarize work, or demonstrate combative/unprofessional behavior will be dismissed and banned from future training.

🔸 What makes your program different?
