Often the hardest move is to slow down, step back,
and feel the ground beneath you.

I have stepped back and letting go of my PT practice in my business this fall.
It hurts. It’s hard. And I’m grateful for my coach who pushed me to see what I intuitively knew was true and it hurt like hell to admit.

There have been so many tears, but I’m meant to be a coach and it is the best decision for myself, my family and my business right now.

I’m deeply appreciative of my body and how it has always showed up for me in all my shapes and sizes to do the challenging movements. Plenty that I’ve failed, I’ve become injured and I still get back up, move forward, modify - and still move forward differently.

I know, as long as I feel the nourishing ground beneath me, I know I will eventually be ok, even if I am not ok right now.

Here they are!

🚶‍♀️ Take a 5-10 min Morning Stroll (Not a Workout)
A slow, non-cardio walk tells your nervous system, “You’re safe. We don’t have to start the day in a sprint.”

☀️ Move Closer to the Light
Shift your workspace toward a window, open the curtains wide, or just let yourself see the sky.

💦 Warm, Grounding Food & Hydration
Soups, roasted veggies, herbal tea, warm lemon water — gentle fuel your body doesn’t have to fight for.

😮‍💨 Take a Movement Snack Before the 3PM Crash
Try 3 deep breaths, a long exhale, shoulder rolls, wall pushups, or a quick hip stretch. Movement makes real energy.

🕯️ Create an Energy Anchor
A tiny daily ritual that tells your body to soften — light a candle, stretch slowly, or step outside for one full minute.

🌱 And the Root of It All…

👻 Not all monsters live under your bed…

Some live in your inbox, calendar, and never ending to-do list — nibbling away at your energy before noon.

The scariest part?
You don’t even see them coming — until your body whispers, “I’m tired.”

Ghoul! I get this! My energy creature is the Inbox Imp 😈 and perfectionist poltergeist 👻

But this Halloween - I made a plan and set intentional boundaries. I’m ghosting my inbox everyday at 5pm, and today, at 12! Because honestly, it can wait ….

Many of us are living in a society that doesn’t feel safe — especially in law, education, and healthcare.

So it makes sense that we’re all operating under ridiculous expectations:
😵‍💫deadlines
😵‍💫decisions,
😵‍💫fires

that always seem to need “putting out.”

That constant busyness — jumping from one task to the next —
😵Is a stress response.

Because when your body is under too much stress, your brain craves dopamine — a quick reward, a little relief, a sense of “I did something.”✅

So it keeps you switching tabs, chasing urgency, staying “productive.”

⚖️ But the work you do matters too much to live in that loop.

You need to stay the course.
Whole-ass 1️⃣ assignment at a time.

Because the dopamine that comes from completion — the golden dopamine — is nourishing🌿

👍🏻It’s what actually moves the needle forward.
😵Not the scattered rush of putting out little fires all day.

And remember your why: you got into this work to serve, to help, to bring something good into the world.

The best way to keep doing that is by giving yourself — and others — realistic expectations and humane deadlines.

You are still a human being, with human needs: food, water, movement, play, rest.

So please — stay the course.
Close one tab.
Let it be enough.
Then go enjoy your weekend — you’ve earned it. 🌿
