Last year, we served 198,155 meals to seniors in our community.

When you register for March for Meals, you’re not just signing up for a race —
your registration delivers 3 meals through Meals on Wheels.

And each of those meals is more than lunch.

It’s a wellness check.
It’s a friendly face at the door.
It’s encouragement and reassurance that someone cares.

It’s a reminder that our seniors have a community standing behind them.

Sign up. Show up. Make an impact.

Love was truly in the air this Valentine’s Day šŸ’•

Our hearts are full thanks to an incredible community that showed up in such meaningful ways:

ā¤ļø Thank you to MUSC Health + The Vein Clinic for preparing Valentine’s bags for all of our Meals on Wheels clients — and for delivering a route with smiles to match.

šŸ’Œ Thank you to a group of the sweetest girls for creating heartfelt, handmade cards during their Valentine’s Day party. Those personal touches mean more than you know.

šŸ’— Thank you to Colonial Life for once again showering our clients with Valentine’s cards and kindness.

🌹 And thank you Councilman Sam Johnson
for passing out roses to Lourie Center members.

Because of you, love reached doorsteps, mailboxes, and smiling faces all across our community.

Happy Valentine’s Day! ā¤ļø

A powerful story from a volunteer reminding us why senior services are vital:

"Recently I had a new client added to my Meals on Wheels route, and his reaction to receiving his very first meal is something I’ll never forget. He was my first stop of the day. I knocked a few minutes before 11, rang the bell, knocked again, and even called out, ā€˜Meals on Wheels!’ There was a car in the driveway, but no answer. After trying his phone and leaving a message, I decided to knock one last time and waited a few more minutes, just in case.

I had just turned back toward my car when his door opened. He was dripping wet, wrapped in a towel—he had just stepped out of the shower after hearing my last knock. He told me he had simply lost track of time and hadn’t expected me quite yet. In spite of apologizing for his appearance, he was so relieved and grateful that he hadn’t missed the delivery. His joy over receiving that first meal was contagious.

About an hour later, he called me after listening to my voicemail. He thanked me again and again—at least half a dozen times in just a short conversation. He couldn’t stop expressing how deeply grateful he is for Meals on Wheels and what an amazing organization it is. His appreciation was sincere, heartfelt, and a reminder of just how meaningful this service is to those we serve."
