Caldwell Memorial Hospital Proudly serving our community, we are a rural-based acute hospital and inpatient rehab center located in the heart of downtown Columbia, LA.

With additional clinics in Columbia, Chatham, and Wisner, we’re here to provide compassionate care close to home. The Caldwell Memorial establishment provides an in house clinic and a 37-bed acute care center, attached to the back of our facility we have a 10-bed rehabilitation center. Across the breezeway we have the Winter's Clinic. We also have two other locations in Chatham and Wisner.

Feeling less merry this time of year? You’re not alone.

While the holidays bring lights, music, and celebration, shorter winter days can also bring Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) — a type of depression linked to reduced sunlight.

✨ Signs to Look For:
• Low mood or “winter blues”
• Fatigue or oversleeping
• Loss of interest in holiday activities
• Changes in appetite
• Difficulty focusing

🎁 Ways to Support Your Well-Being:
• Get outside during daylight hours
• Use light therapy with provider guidance
• Keep a routine (even during the busy season)
• Stay active and stay connected
• Reach out to a healthcare professional if symptoms persist

💙 This season, be gentle with yourself.

• Difficulty with ADLs (bathing, dressing, toileting, transfers)
• Balance deficits putting them at risk for falls
• Cognitive deficits affecting safety or independence
• New or unresolved deficits from conditions like stroke (CVA), fractures, amputation, or deconditioning
