As a Trauma-Informed/EMDR therapist, I’m always asking ‘Can I come a little bit closer?!’ (With safety and consent, of course!)

When it comes to processing and discussing trauma related things, I like to be ready to access some things that the client is talking about by coming a little closer and helping them engage in some bilateral stimulation as needed.

December has a way of quietly convincing women that more equals better — more events, more traditions, more effort, more emotional labor.

But your nervous system doesn’t care about the calendar.
It cares about rest, safety, and sustainability.

This is your permission slip to simplify.
To cancel what feels heavy.
To choose what actually feels nourishing.
To let “good enough” be more than enough.

You don’t have to earn rest by burning yourself out first.

What’s one thing you’re giving yourself permission to let go of this December? 🤍

Women don’t just “do the holidays.”
We anticipate. We remember. We plan. We hold emotions. We smooth the edges.
We carry the magic and the pressure to make it all feel effortless.

That mental load is invisible to most people but, not to your body.
This week is your gentle reminder that the overwhelm you feel is not a flaw in your character… it’s a sign you’ve been carrying too much, usually without acknowledgment.

If no one has said it to you yet:
You’re doing a lot.
It makes sense that you’re tired.
And you deserve support, rest, and moments where you aren’t the one holding everything together.

Tell me — what’s one thing you’re carrying this season that no one sees? 💛

If your brain feels like it has 43 tabs open but only one is actually helpful… hi, welcome, you’re in good company.

The mental load gets heavy, especially when you’re juggling work, family, healing, responsibilities, emotions, and trying to remember if you ever switched the laundry.

Here’s your gentle reminder:
• You don’t have to carry it all today.
• Pick one tab.
• Do one next step.
• Breathe.

You’re doing enough. 💛

A year ago, I shared my IVF story on the B. Well Podcast. ♥️

This week, I sat back down with Lanita Jefferson and Calvin Graham for Part 2 — a conversation that felt honest, vulnerable, and really special.

I share a lot of things fertility however, please know I am not an expert and this is from@my perspective and thoughts from MY journey. Each one is different 🫶🏼

If you’ve ever been in the thick of fertility decisions, waiting seasons, or big emotional transitions… we go there. 🤍

What WORKS for my relationship that might be helpful for yours 🫶🏼 Part 1: the Family Meeting!

In my work with couples, often with ♥️, we talk with them about the importance of a family meeting, which is not something that has to be permanent and set in stone as far as plans go however, it does kind of help you plan for the week or talk about intentions that you might have with your partner so that you know what is on each other‘s radar.

My partner and I do this on a weekly basis so that we are just aware of priorities, events, or even small things each other would like to get done that week … even if it involves ordering pizza on Friday 😉 🍕

I highly recommend having some sort of family meeting for the week ahead just so that your family can be on the same page (or in the same book!). This does not have to be a scheduled, 2 hour sit down… and can often be done with a screaming child, the tv on & the dog running between your legs!
