What WORKS for my relationship that might be helpful for yours 🫶🏼 Part 1: the Family Meeting!

In my work with couples, often with ♥️, we talk with them about the importance of a family meeting, which is not something that has to be permanent and set in stone as far as plans go however, it does kind of help you plan for the week or talk about intentions that you might have with your partner so that you know what is on each other‘s radar.

My partner and I do this on a weekly basis so that we are just aware of priorities, events, or even small things each other would like to get done that week … even if it involves ordering pizza on Friday 😉 🍕

I highly recommend having some sort of family meeting for the week ahead just so that your family can be on the same page (or in the same book!). This does not have to be a scheduled, 2 hour sit down… and can often be done with a screaming child, the tv on & the dog running between your legs!

Let’s make sexual health care part of self-care.

Most STIs are treatable… and some are even curable.

Testing regularly is an act of love for yourself and anyone you share intimacy with. 💕

This month we’ve talked about awareness, symptoms, and now, testing and taking action.

When you feel “off,” it’s not random… it’s your nervous system asking for support. 🛋️

Here are some everyday signs your body might be overwhelmed:
✨ Irritability over the smallest things
✨ Feeling stuck and unable to choose the next task
✨ A mind that feels loud, fast, or unfocused

The goal isn’t to push through it.
It’s to pause, breathe, and give your body what it’s been asking for.

Which one of these do you notice the most?

This work is beautiful. 🛋️

There’s moments, just like every job or career, that feel heavy or lighter AND I still love this work.

Whether it’s the admittance, the space, the presence, the laughter, the tears, the anger.. I love it all 🫶🏼

STIs don’t always come with flashing warning signs. Many people never have noticeable symptoms.

But your body does communicate. Sometimes through pain, irritation, or subtle changes that tell you it needs attention.

Regular testing is a form of self-respect and care (not shame!)

💕 Take care of your whole self this month.

Sometimes we need a little more than deep breaths. 🛋️

We prepare for physical emergencies, but rarely for emotional ones.

Your Emotional Emergency Kit is a reminder that your feelings deserve care too… a small collection of things that help you ground, reconnect, and remind yourself that you’re safe and supported.

Start small. Personalize it. Keep it close.

What would you include in yours?

Let’s talk about the most common STIs… because the more we know, the better we can care for our bodies.

Most of these infections are treatable or manageable BUT many go unnoticed because of stigma and silence.

Swipe through to learn what they are, how they spread, and why testing is a simple act of self-respect.

A look behind the (Therapy) curtain 🛋️ 😁

if people are looking at my desk area, they totally noticed the chaotic energy that is me, lol.

however, if you take a closer look, you see there are a number of different skills and resources I use throughout the session to be helpful to clients and here are a few of those for you now!

What resources do you use in session or has your therapist used?!

Your body always gives you clues… a headache, irritability, brain fog, exhaustion.

If we ignore the whispers, we end up meeting the meltdown.

Rest isn’t lazy, it’s a boundary. 🛋️
