This week has been the week of Megan. Her birthday is on Friday- and we have been celebrating her all week! Today we played the color game with her. I read a story with colors in it. Each time the resident heard a color, they passed their balloon. When the timer went off, if Megan held a balloon- she had to choose from the cup of doom! Today we saw her yodel, sing a whole song, skip through the facility and tell us stories of her life. We laughed so hard at her antics! It was a fun game for all (except Megan! HA!)

We love celebrating our staff. We are family here- and we love to show how much they mean!

National Activity Professionals Week
This week we celebrated three wonderful employees who bring energy, creativity, and heart to our communities every single day. Our activity professionals work tirelessly to ensure our residents have opportunities to laugh, connect, and enjoy meaningful moments together.

From planning engaging activities to creating experiences that truly brighten each day, your dedication does not go unnoticed. Thank you for all the hard work, compassion, and joy you bring to our residents. We are so grateful for everything you do and the difference you make.

This week is National Activity Professionals Week- and it is a perfect time to brag on my two assistants!

Olivia has been here 4 years and is so loved by the staff and residents. She can decorate for events and parties like no other! She can make something out of nothing- and literally can take trash and make it a treasure. She has THE BEST costumes- and outdoes everyone on dress up day.

Andrea has been here for 7 years, and we would be lost without her. She makes our residents feel beautiful. She takes the extra time to make sure that our residents look and feel their best. She does nails like a pro, does manicures, spa days and so much in between! Fun Dip Friday is always delicious!

These two are the heart of Life Enrichment. They are the ones that have their hand in everything. Personal care, crafting, beautifying, hand holding, hugging, singing and jokes. They excel at everything.

Life Enrichment is exactly what it sounds like. Enriching the lives of others. It doesn't stop at crafts or snacks. It is the deep connection that we all have with the residents of our home. It is knowing when someone needs a friend to sit with them, listen to them and offer a hug. It is knowing the limitations of someone and finding a way to make that limitation insignificant. Life Enrichment is so much more an activity- It is a human connection- and Andrea and Olivia have mastered memory care and all that it embodies.

Ladies- thank you. Thank you for taking my crazy ideas and helping me bring them to fruition. Thank you for never saying "That isn't my job." Thank you for being the loving and caring women you are to these residents, to the staff and to me. I am proud to work with you.
