Are you still struggling with pain? There are a few hard truths that are keeping you from getting better.

First, if you are just treating the symptoms, you may not see any improvement. While symptoms and pain can indicate underlying issues, if you don’t dig deeper you may not be treating the root cause. Pain can show up in seemingly unrelated places, making it essential to diagnose correctly.

Second, if you’re not building strength, you aren’t giving your tissue the feedback it needs to become more resilient. A consistent strength training routine is the best way to solve this.

And third, you’re jumping into too much activity too soon. Our bodies need time to accommodate an increase in load so doing too much too soon can set us back.

Is your back feeling locked up after this week at work? Here are our three best foam rolling tips to keep you moving!

Foam rolling is a great tool to use to release myofascial tension. After sitting all week, it’s common for our upper backs to feel sore. Foam rolling before exercise can help prep your mind and body for movement, or just help you loosen up.

Our team members like to practice what we preach! With this week feeling like summer, we are getting out and moving.

Between golfing, running, cycling and real world offset carries, we know how your body can feel after exercise. We also know the demands these sports place on our body. This makes us acutely aware of what our patients are experiencing.

Are you tired after sitting at a desk all day? Try these exercises to help keep you moving!

Pigeon, standing windmills and a lat stretch are easy to do from your desk at home or at work. While there are no “bad” postures, there are postures we stay in too long which can cause pain. Remember that the most important part is getting up and moving, because sitting in any one position for an extended period of time is usually what creates problems.

Do you know the signs that you need to come and see us? With more time spent outside, there are three warning signs that you need to get in the clinic.

The first is that you are having persistent pain. Soreness is a totally normal part of a new exercise routine (and sometimes feels really great!), but when it lingers longer than a few days it may be time to make an appointment.

The second sign is pain that always shows up in the same spot. If you are experiencing the same issue every single time you run, there may be more beneath the surface.

The third is movement that just doesn’t feel right. If you feel like you need help with your swing or stride, we can help give you exercises to make everything feel a bit better.

So if you think you need a little more support this spring, there’s never been a better time to see us. Click the link in our bio for an appointment!

Have you found yourself caught between deciding to rest or keep moving? It’s a common myth that rest is always the answer, but that isn’t the case.

Rest has an important role. Certainly, there are injuries that require rest for adequate healing time. But, for most conditions that we see in the clinic, movement is actually the answer.

We don’t just mean a set of random exercises. We mean a proper warmup routine that helps your body get prepared for movement. Tendons and muscles enjoy being under load, which is why you often feel better when you get moving.

And after you exercise? Ensure that you are giving your body what it needs to heal. This means proper nutrition, hydration and sleep. If you’re ready to get out of pain, click the link in the bio. We want to help you feel better than before!
