RDs = Nutrition Experts
Registered Dietitians are the food and nutrition experts who can translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. RDs use their nutrition expertise to help individuals make unique, positive lifestyle changes. They work throughout the community in hospitals, schools, public health clinics, nursing homes, fitness centers, food management, food industry, universities, research and private practice. RDs are advocates for advancing the nutritional status of Americans and people around the world.

Congratulations to Erin Brown who was recognized for the Outstanding Dietetics Intern award! 🥳

Erin will be graduating from the Master of Science in Applied Nutrition, Dietetics Focus program from the University of New England this May. She completed internship rotations with MUSC Columbia Downtown, SC Dept of Public Health, Gamecock Olympic Sports, Carolina Food Co with USC, private practice, and others. As Erin becomes an RDN this summer, she hopes to continue contributing to anti-hunger policies and improve nutritious food access for all ages.

We had an amazing time at the annual conference! 🌞 thank you to everyone who helped make it possible and to all who attended!!

One thing we’re taking away is that we share a common goal: we all want to feed people nutritious food. We learned about the various ways that the professionals and students in our state are doing so 🤝

Plus the culinary team at Marina Inn kept us fed with delicious food (including the creamiest hummus you’ve ever had) 😋

It’s always a wonderful time when likeminded nutrition professionals collaborate and mingle. Let’s continue these strong bonds and powerful initiatives 💪 Until next time SCAND annual conference!! 🥹

A little late, but a huge thank you to everyone who came out to our dinner service shift at Transitions! It was heartwarming to serve these meals and spend time with one another. The meal recipients and staff were all a pleasure to work with.
