No Drama SC

No Drama SC No Drama is a birth control access program of New Morning, a South Carolina based nonprofit.

In 2017, New Morning launched the largest statewide birth control access program in the Southeast, called No Drama. The goal to provide equitable access to family planning and contraceptive services to ultimately decrease the number of unwanted and mistimed pregnancies across South Carolina. With funding from public and private partners, we’ve built a collaborative network of clinics, supplying them with birth control methods, training providers and generating increased demand for reproductive healthcare services. By increasing access to a full range of birth control options and prioritizing patient-centered, non-coercive counseling, the program is delivering:

» Contraceptive choice and reproductive autonomy.
» Improved maternal health and pre-pregnancy care.
» Reduced inequities for women across the state.
» Better outcomes for all South Carolinians. For more information, please visit www.nodrama.org www.newmorning.org.

Our Story

We have provided grants to Federally Qualified Health Centers and DHEC Family Planning Clinics. These grants include funding for nurse recruitment, facility improvements, medical training and contraceptives. Other partners include hospital systems, medical and nursing schools, and college and university health centers. The Need • Over half of all pregnancies in South Carolina are unintended • Unintended pregnancy can limit a woman's social and economic mobility • Helping women and men plan when they will have children can mean a healthier start for children • Unintended pregnancy costs South Carolina taxpayers $180 million dollars annually Our Approach We believe that every South Carolinian deserves contraceptive counseling and access to all contraceptive methods regardless of cost or ability to pay. Our grants support contraceptive counseling and contraceptive methods in alignment with organizations that include: • American Medical Association • American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists • American Nurses Association • American Pharmacists Association • U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention For more information, please visit www.choosewellsc.com or www.newmorningfoundation.com.
