For 30 years, The Free Medical Clinic in Columbia has provided quality health care at no cost to Midlands residents who do not have the financial resources or health insurance. Through the efforts of dedicated volunteers and staff, The Free Medical Clinic provides and coordinates health care services to patients between the ages of 18 and 64 for a variety of medical conditions and chronic diseases. The Free Medical Clinic is able to offer services and medication at no cost thanks to support form Lexington Medical Center, Palmetto Health, Providence Hospitals, United Way of the Midlands, corporations such as BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, organizations including the University of South Carolina School of Medicine, faith-based groups and community member contributions.

Through our partnership with FoodShare South Carolina, patients with diabetes or prediabetes may qualify for the VeggieRx program, receiving free boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables every two weeks for 6 months. Interested? Ask your provider at your next visit about enrolling.

By helping address food insecurity, this program supports overall health and chronic disease management.

The Free Medical Clinic is able to offer services and medications at no cost thanks to support form Lexington Medical Center, Prisma Health, United Way of the Midlands, corporations such as BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, foundations including Mungo Family Foundation, The Leon Levine Foundation and others, faith-based groups and individual contributions.
