People First of Boone County is having a potluck dinner on Thursday November 13, 4pm, at Boone County Family Resources, 2700 W. Ash in Columbia. Members of People First will also vote for officers – ballots will be provided at the meeting.

People First will provide meat, plates, utensils and some side dishes and beverages. If you can, please bring a side dish. If you are not able to provide a side dish, no worries! Also, there is no cost. People First of Boone County looks forward to seeing you!

First Impact is coming to Boone County Family Resources!

First Impact offers a FREE 90-minute evidence-based traffic safety program that educates parents and teens about Missouri’s Graduated Driver License law.

The program takes place on December 2nd, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Boone County Family Resources 2700 West Ash, Columbia, Missouri

BCFR staff had a great time at our annual tailgate outside the main office today! Even though it rained, that didn’t stop the fun — there was lots of good food, laughter, and team spirit all around.

In September, which was National Recovery Month, BCFR was honored to be recognized by MU Extension as a Recovery Friendly Workplace! This designation reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting recovery and sharing the message that behavioral health is essential to overall health, prevention works, treatment is effective, and people can and do recover.

These amazing local businesses are leading the way in creating inclusive workplaces for people with developmental disabilities. Their commitment to opportunity, support and empowerment makes Boone County a better place for everyone.

Awards were presented at our October Board Meeting in celebration of National Disability Employment Awareness Month — and we couldn’t think of a better time to honor their impact!

At Boone County Family Resources, we are celebrating Case Management Week every day this week — because our team deserves it! 💙

Yesterday, we had a blast with a grab-and-go popcorn bar 🍿 and a fun game. A small way to say THANK YOU to our incredible Case Managers who go above and beyond for the people we serve every single day.
