We are 6 days away from DRLD with some exciting Accessibility news!

We just learned we will be able to provide a Captioning Link for anyone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

We are in the process of seeing if it will also work with screen readers and Braille transcription. We'll let you know about that when we know more.

Save this link! https://bit.ly/DRLDCaptionLink The link will go live just before the rally next Wednseday at 11 am. We will also post the link on DRLD.org on February 25th. Thank you!

Disability Rights Legislative Day is less than 2 weeks away, February 25, 2026!

There will be a rally and opportunities to speak with your legislator about what matters most to YOU. Join advocates from across the state for an exciting day of advocacy and relationship building. You deserve a place at the table.

Not able to attend the Rally in person?
That’s OK! Thanks to support from the Missouri Developmental Disabilities Council (MODDC), this event will also be virtual. You still have the option of setting up a time to visit your legislator in their office at a time convenient to you or setting up a time to meet with them when they're back in their home districts.

Whether attending virtually or in person, register here: https://drld.org/events/drld/

Thank you to Ron Schmidt, Drew Turner and Tonia Turner from the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation department who came by our Family Support team meeting this week to discuss the CARE Program which is ramping up for the summer. The City of Columbia CARE (Career Awareness Related Experience) program is a summer work experience open to 14-20 years olds who live in Columbia and would like to gain real-world, hands-on work experience. BCFR also partners with the City to offer a BCFR-specific program that runs year round.
