Hunter Medical, LLC, is a Tennessee based, medical device company, founded in 2013 by Lee Hunter M.D., M.B.A., a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in surgery of the upper extremity, particularly the elbow, wrist and hand. Trigger Finger Repaired In Office Exam Room!

Dr. Hunter now typically repairs trigger fingers and thumbs in the TOA Columbia office!

The entire office visit usually takes about 20 minutes.

No stitches!
No missed time from work!
Excellent outcomes!

Painful catching or snapping of fingers or the thumb is one of the most common orthopedic hand issues

Cortisone injections sometimes help, but in the past permanent relief of trigger digits often required a trip to the operating room. Fortunately, that’s not the case anymore. Dr. Hunter has developed a procedure that can quickly, safely and reliably relieves the problem right in the office exam room. This is done without the inconvenience of stitches or a heavy bandage. Most patients can return to work the same day.

In-Office Trigger Digit surgery is now available at Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance in Columbia!

Catching, locking, or snapping of the fingers and thumb is very common. It’s generally referred to as a “trigger finger” or “trigger thumb”. Until recently, this surgery required a hospital or surgery center visit. Now, the procedure can be quickly and safely performed in an office setting with a local anesthetic and no sutures! Hunter Medical is pleased to announce that Dr. Lee Hunter has been invited to present his experience with elbow arthroscopy at the Triennial Congress Meeting of the IFSSH and IFSHT in Washington DC, in March 2025. This is the premier international meeting of hand surgeons and hand therapists, sponsored by the American Society for Surgery of the Hand , the American Association for Hand Surgery, along with multiple international hand surgery and hand therapy societies.
Dr. Hunter's elbow arthroscopy technique was highlighted in the article “Supine Elbow Arthroscopy: A decade of results with a vertical humerus and a free forearm”, published in the Journal of Orthopaedic Experience and Innovation.
