After many delays, today we were finally able to see our first images of our tongues moving on ultrasound! This is a big deal for a speech-nerd like me....and it means we will soon be able to use this biofeedback technology to help our clients see their tongues move IN REAL TIME! This will be a game changer in helping kiddos learn difficult speech sounds like /r/ and /s/. These sounds can really be difficult to learn because kids can't see what their tongues are doing.......well until now!

Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) we are up and running! Now for some training:)

I wanted to share some GREAT NEWS! I have been awarded a grant from Women's Business Development Council (WBDC)!!!! The grant will be used to purchase ULTRASOUND to be used in speech therapy here at the office!!!!

Ultrasound is a technique that can be used to look at the tongue in real time. It has been used to correct a number of speech sound errors by allowing the child to see what their tongue is doing as they are doing it.

I hope to use it to run some intensive summer therapy sessions and hopefully to train students in its use!!!!!! More information will follow.
