Spring is here and little bodies need to move:)
I love a kiddo with a good imagination who can complete his mission from his "rocket" to return all of the eggs safely to the nest.
PS Mission accomplished:)

I am excited to share a sneak peek at a project I have been working on (with the help of sooooo many people) since 2020.

We are at the final stages of (finally) printing a set of early speech sequencing books for kiddos who are at the initial stages of their motor speech journey. I call them MESS books, Mastering Early Speech Sequences.

They follow the progression of early speech motor skills and will be great for apraxia and dysarthria as well as speech delays. They are meant for both SLPs and parents and include some additional suggested activities. Hopefully, they will be a helpful tool in your motor speech kits!

There will be three sets to address the earliest speech sequences! We have 5 books in the first set, 8 in the second set and 9 in the third set. So many helped me by modeling, coming in for photos, editing and formatting. Special thanks to Rissa ClarkCreative CT for all of the work she has done on these.

I will keep you posted!!!!!

I realize it has been a minute since I have filled you in on all of the FUN we have here while we are getting our work done. I will try to be better.

Sometimes you can get lots of repetitions in the most enjoyable ways. Today was no exception! We worked on alveolar to alveolar sequences (tongue sound to another tongue sound) using 'dino, diner, donut, tiny) and bilabial to alveolar sequences (lip sound to tongue sound) in money, menu and got more than a hundred repetitions of practice sequences. They also maintained them in short phrases (big donut, tiny donut, more money, red money, purple dino). The best part is......it felt more like "play" than "work" (to both of us:) and this kiddo rocked it!

So proud of all of the hard work each and every kiddo and family puts in to improving their speech skills.

What an amazing day!!! Thank you to Brandon Gisela Rice Paula Graf Starkel Emma Molly Julianne Bill Rice Lindsay Holahan and Calvin for an amazing day of shopping for Megan’s Place (Heather VanDyke-Cardona). Molly will be delivering our haul on Tuesday.

This is why we collected coins so thank you to everyone who donated coins or bills this season. Also a special thank you to Tracy Brooks (Cole) and Melissa Jordan who generously donated last minute to support this cause. This day makes me so happy every year because of the village it takes to get here but also because it keeps the memory of a beautiful young lady alive.
