Izzie Mae and I are on the road once again and working hard in the hotel room…

She’s pondering her next orders to give me and I’m building out all the details for the live event happening in LESS THAN TWO WEEKS.

I’ll leave it at two simple truths for now:
1. I can’t believe I get to practice pharmacy this way.
2. I’m beyond grateful to be in a position to do this work. It just feels right.

Allow me to be clear about something…

First, thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement regarding yesterday’s post officially announcing our USP 800 lab certification.
It was an unexpected outpouring.

I went into the store before store hours yesterday to record some specific assets for a project I’m working on, and snagged that picture of the lab while I was there.

What do I want to be clear about?

The NCP team worked tirelessly on bringing that to fruition.
They were amazing throughout the entire process, navigating uncharted waters and problem solving all along the way.

Sure, they came to me for big decisions and I stepped in whenever I was needed.
Also, they pushed through for months solving plenty of issues I never even heard about.

I’m just really proud of them and all of those incoming “congrats” comments go to way more people than just me.

Culture is key.

Ours isn’t perfect (and it never will be), but we care deeply about each other and collaborating with purpose.

Good culture doesn’t make things easy.
It makes hard things possible.
And that’s exactly what happened here.

CERTIFIED. ✅
And not in the “slap a badge on it and move on” way.

This is our official announcement that North Century Pharmacy’s USP 800 compounding operation is certified.

This was a six-figure investment.
Over $100,000, all in.

And that number doesn’t even begin to tell the story.

USP 800 compliance is something most pharmacies never touch. Not because it isn’t important, but because it’s hard. It requires saying yes to complexity, regulation, and an uncomfortable amount of upfront work.

MEAL PREP MOMENTUM…

Some of this is perhaps a bit extreme, so I’ll give a little context.

I kicked off the year with a 72-hour stint of food poisoning. Fun. Except…not really.

Anyone who’s been around me any meaningful amount of time has heard me rattle off, “Obstacles are opportunities.” It just makes life easier to say it…seriously. Try it.

Anyway, it was a miserable three days, of course. Also, I wondered how I could use it to my advantage (in some weird way).

Creeping ever easily back into some sort of sense of normalcy, I chose very carefully what I ate. Whole foods. Bland foods.

Before I knew it, it was time for Week 2 for our current RECLAIM90 (guided wellness program) cohort, which meant it was also time for the group’s first 7-Day Reset. I was way more than happy and ready to join in.

A gut repairing, inflammation smoldering, mitochondrial supporting, nutrient dense seven days? Yes, please.

For real…it took no time to feel like The Great Food Poisoning of 10 Days Prior never even happened. I came out lighter, energized, clear-headed…and I’ve taken the opportunity (from the original obstacle) to build momentum since then.

Meal prepping was part of my 7-Day Reset approach and, simply put, it’s a power move. Notably, it’s much easier NOT to do than do, right? Still, it’s a major unlock.

So today’s post-workout meal?
Grass-fed beef, sweet potatoes, onions, cottage cheese, avocado, broccoli, and cauliflower.

Delicious + 60gm of protein + the byproduct of post-sickness momentum maintained.

Maybe viewing suffering a sickly spell as a fantastic opportunity is a bit weird or extreme. Oh well. I feel great.

I’m curious… If you’re one of many who might be stuck in the house for a while, how might you turn the obstacle into an opportunity? No answer is too weird. Trust me.
