TRAFFIC ADVISORY UPDATE, July 10: US 98 between MS 35 and MS 198 is back OPEN for travel as the day's work was completed ahead of schedule.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY UPDATE, July 8: With initial repairs complete, the U.S. 98 westbound bridge over the Pearl River in Marion County is now REOPENED. However, both directions of this bridge will be CLOSED once again from approximately 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, for more bridge work.
A void was discovered near the approach to the U.S. 98 westbound bridge over the Pearl River, prompting MDOT officials to close this bridge to traffic on Monday, July 7, due to safety concerns. While initial repairs were made, further work is needed. Motorists should detour via State Route 35, State Route 13, and State Route 198 during the temporary closure on Thursday while crews address the additional work.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY: MDOT has CLOSED both directions of the U.S. 98 bridge over the Pearl River in Marion County for repairs.
A void was discovered near the approach to the U.S. 98 westbound bridge over the Pearl River, prompting MDOT officials to close the bridge to traffic due to safety concerns. The U.S. 98 eastbound bridge is currently closed to traffic as part of a project to replace both bridges. MDOT is working with the contractor to determine appropriate repairs in order to safely reopen the bridge as soon as possible.d
