Our Galen Health Fellows Living & Learning Community consists of students who are interested in diverse careers and pathways within the health profession. Our students’ majors vary but most have a designation of health science focus such as Biological Sciences, Exercise Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, and Social Work. One of the primary goals of this community is to prepare students to be culturally competent and holistically trained future health care providers. Related Majors:

Next Monday, November 17th from 6-7pm come join us in the Patterson 103/104 classrooms to hear from a representative of MedEx. This is a program ran by Prisma Health which offers an internship opportunity and much more, open to all majors for those wanting to explore different healthcare careers. Applications for the SC Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare's 2025 Summer Fellowship Program are open.

The Fellowship Program is an opportunity for undergraduate students interested in working to improve health outcomes in rural communities across South Carolina. Fellows will work on projects that promote health equity, enhance care delivery, and research trends that impact access to care.

Fellows will receive mentorship from staff as they assist with the center’s ongoing programs and research projects, attend networking opportunities with rural and primary healthcare professionals, visit rural sites, and complete service projects.

The Fellowship begins on June 2, 2025, and ends on August 8, 2025. Fellows will receive a $2500 stipend for their program participation.

The program is open to rising undergraduate sophomores and juniors of any major with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
