๐Ÿ’™ Heart Warrior Spotlight: Owen ๐Ÿ’™

At just 7 months old, Owen finds joy in the simplest, sweetest moments โ€” watching the ceiling fan spin, giggling at his siblings, and soaking up time outside, his favorite place to be. With a bubbly personality and a constant smile, Owen brings light to everyone around him.

Owen was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) during pregnancy. Born via C-section, he underwent his first open-heart surgery at just 4 days old. Since then, his journey has included a stroke, seizures, time relying on a G-tube for nutrition, and a second open-heart surgery. Today, Owen is eating by mouth and continuing to grow stronger, with another surgery expected in the years ahead.

His family shared a powerful truth they hold close: the journey is long, but God gives us hope. While Owenโ€™s surgeries are not a cure and he will always live with a single-ventricle heart, their faith has carried them through the hardest moments and continues to guide them forward.

They also shared how meaningful Hands of Hope has been โ€” offering reassurance, peace of mind, and trusted support. Knowing an RN was just a call or text away helped them navigate uncertainty and feel less alone during overwhelming moments.

๐Ÿ’™ Drop some love and encouragement in the comments as we stand with Owen and his family โ€” to honor his strength, their faith, and the hope that carries them through each step of this journey.

๐Ÿ’— Heart Warrior Spotlight: Scottie Mae ๐Ÿ’—

At 15 months old, Scottie Mae finds joy in everything around her โ€” music, books, dancing, exploring her home, playing with her toys, and spending time with the people she loves. Her smile is contagious, her energy endless, and her cuddly side just as strong as her playful one.

Scottie was born with a congenital heart defect, including AVSD and heterotaxy. She spent over a month in the NICU before going home with a G-tube and medications, followed by multiple hospital stays due to heart symptoms. At just a few months old, Scottie underwent a heart catheterization and open-heart surgery.

Since surgery, Scottie has weaned off her G-tube and most medications โ€” and today, she is thriving and meeting milestones. As her family shared, โ€œShe is our superhero. The most resilient and strongest person weโ€™ve ever met.โ€

Her family also described Hands of Hope as โ€œa God send,โ€ sharing gratitude for the support and peace they received during a very uncertain season.

Today, we celebrate Scottie Mae โ€” a little girl with a big heart, unstoppable joy, and incredible strength. Show Scottie and her family love by dropping a๐Ÿ’œand encouraging words below!

โœจ May Scottieโ€™s story remind us that resilience often shines brightest in the smallest hearts.

๐Ÿ’™ Heart Warrior Spotlight: Caden Gennie ๐Ÿ’™

At 2 years old, Caden Gennie brings energy, laughter, and determination wherever he goes. He loves being outside, playing ball, and doing everything he can to keep up with his big brother. Caden has a fun, silly personality and enjoys showing off new skills โ€” while still finding comfort staying close to mom and dad in unfamiliar or medical situations.

Born with complex congenital heart defects, Cadenโ€™s early life included multiple hospitalizations, procedures, and open-heart surgeries, along with feeding support and ongoing therapies. His journey has required more strength than most little ones ever face.

Since his full heart repair in March 2024, Caden has continued to grow and make progress, while remaining closely monitored. As his family shared, โ€œEven though you canโ€™t physically see anything wrong, that doesnโ€™t mean he isnโ€™t working hard just to live each day.โ€ His heart will always be different โ€” and his journey lifelong.

Cadenโ€™s family also shared that Hands of Hope was โ€œa lifeline during the hardest, sickest days,โ€ offering support, comfort, and care when they needed it most.

This Heart Month, we celebrate Caden and all heart warriors whose strength goes far beyond what can be seen. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Drop a ๐Ÿ’™ to honor Caden and his continued journey.

๐Ÿ’– Heart Warrior Spotlight: Elizabeth Het Olson ๐Ÿ’–

At just 9 months old, Elizabeth Het Olson is already showing the world what joy and resilience look like. ๐Ÿ’•

Elizabeth finds happiness in the simple, beautiful moments โ€” interacting with her siblings, being doted on by her parents, listening to music, and babbling happily with family and friends. She has a bright smile, an outgoing personality, and a joy that shines especially when sheโ€™s surrounded by people she loves.

Elizabeth was diagnosed with tetralogy of Fallot in utero. At just 12 weeks old, during a routine cardiology appointment, she was found to have severe left ventricular dysfunction and was admitted to the hospital for nearly a month. During that time, she began medications to support her heart function and had a G-tube placed to help meet her nutritional needs.

But as her family so powerfully shared, โ€œShe is not defined by her heart condition or her G-tube or her medical diagnosis.โ€ Elizabeth is a beautiful, bright, and happy little girl who loves deeply and is deeply loved in return.

From the Hands of Hope perspective, it has been an honor to walk alongside Elizabeth and her family. Her mom, Andrea, shared that HOH has been โ€œlike a friend to hold my hand when I have been scared or nervous or anxious.โ€ Supporting not just Elizabeth, but her entire family, is at the heart of what we do.

This Heart Month, we are proud to honor Elizabeth and all of our heart warriors โ€” children whose stories are about so much more than a diagnosis. โค๏ธ

๐Ÿ’ฌ Drop a heart below to celebrate Elizabeth or share a message for a heart warrior who inspires you.
