Meet Dr. Kristin Miller 👋🐾
And help us give her the warmest WAG Vet welcome 💛

We’re so excited to welcome Dr. Miller as an Associate Veterinarian at WAG Vet in Columbia, SC! She brings 2.5 years of experience across general practice, surgery, and after-hours urgent care—plus a thoughtful, compassionate approach that fits right in with our care philosophy.

A lifelong animal lover (inspired by her childhood cats 🐱), Dr. Miller is especially passionate about feline medicine and emergency care, with a strong focus on improving quality of life for cats with complex medical needs. She’s even a published author, with a recent feline-focused study in the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine 📚✨—because excellence and curiosity are kind of her thing.

At WAG Vet, Dr. Miller works closely with our incredible team to provide comprehensive exams, diagnostics, treatments, and surgical care—always individualized, always intentional. We couldn’t be more excited to have her skills, heart, and energy as part of our growing team.

When she’s off the clock, she’s a devoted cat mom to:
🐱 Thor – 11 years young, living his best snack-filled life
🐱 Taiyo – sweet, shy, and a little suspicious of everything
🐱 Asta – tiny body, HUGE personality

Outside the clinic, Dr. Miller loves crafting with her Cricut, doodling, watching anime, spending time with friends, and collecting all the fun things 🎨✨

We’re beyond thrilled to have Dr. Miller join the WAG Vet family and can’t wait for our clients and patients to get to know her. Drop a 🐾 in the comments to help us welcome her! 💛

❄️ How Cold Is Too Cold for Pets? ❄️
Even mild Southern winters can be uncomfortable — and sometimes unsafe — for pets. Smaller breeds, short-haired pets, seniors, and cats feel the cold faster, especially when temps dip near freezing.

🐶 Dogs: Consider sweaters or coats, protect paws from cold pavement and deicers, and keep walks short on extra chilly days.
🐱 Cats: Indoor is safest in winter. Outdoor cats can get cold quickly and may hide in car engines for warmth — always tap the hood before driving.
🚗 Cold cars are dangerous too. Temps drop fast, so pets are safest at home.

⚠️ Watch for hypothermia: shivering, cold ears or paws, weakness, or pale gums — bring pets inside and call your vet right away.

At WAG Vet, we’re all about cozy, safe pets all season long. When in doubt, keep them warm, shorten outdoor time, and listen to their cues. 💛🐾
