I am a Pilates instructor and am trained in all pieces of equipment. Based upon my experiences as a client and the research I conducted when I decided to make a career change, I believe Stott Pilates is the most rigorous and thorough Pilates training available. An incredible Columbia, SC based Stott instructor, Cathy B., inspired my passion and encouraged me to pursue my passion for Pilates. However, I do not limit my learning to just one methodology. In addition to my Stott training, I have begun Scolio-Pilates training under Karena Theck and am compiling my hours for her Mentorship training and certification as a Scolio-Pilates Practitioner. I have studied BASI and Fletcher Pilates methods. Whenever I travel, I seek out private Pilates sessions with the best instructors available and have been fortunate to have taken classes under two 2nd generation instructors. I am also honored to be a humble student of Gyrotonics instructor Rosemary Carnes. Maintaining and building core strength and flexibility is at the heart of every pilates class. However, no two classes will ever be alike. Every class is different and is attuned to a client's changing needs and abilities. I have worked with exercise novices to dedicated athletes and all achieved results from practicing pilates. In addition to a general focus on fitness, I am trained to work with clients who have unique concerns. I offer pre & post-natal pilates. offer Pilates for rehabilitation, aging in place, rehabilitation from injury or surgery, and pilates for the breast cancer survivor. As the sister of a young man with autism, I am very interested in adapting Pilates methods to work on balance and hand-eye coordination in an environment that encourages development of social skills. I am also keenly interested in finding ways to give back to our veterans now that my studio is in a larger and fully accessible space.

Yes, we will open on Monday. We are doing so with great caution. We want to protect both our Pilates community and the greater community. Everyone will be required to wear a mask of some type (surgical seems most comfortable, I do NOT recommend trying to work out in an N95), leave their shoes at the door, wash/sanitize sanitize hands upon entry. Additionally, will use a forehead thermometer to take temperature upon entry. It is recommended that everyone take their temperature before leaving home. We are following the Mayo Clinic guidelines for contact tracing. We will log attendance and temperature on the off chance that contact tracing is needed. Classes will be 5 min shorter to avoid overlap and I will be asking everyone to wait outside so as to avoid overlap. The extra time will allow me more time to clean. In addition to our already rigorous cleaning standards, I am adding a hydrogen peroxide spray, UV-C lights and steam. We are also trying to procure a UV element for our hvac. Please stay home if you feel the least bit sick. I am so proud to work with smart, conscientious and caring people. I know we will get through this and make adjustments if needed.
