Research Spotlight: In a new study published in the Journal of the American Chemical Society, researchers discovered a new antibiotic in a species of soil bacteria, Streptomyces coelicolor. It demonstrates effectiveness against MRSA and VRE and appears to be less likely to create resistance in these organisms than current antimicrobial drugs. Learn more here: https://hubs.ly/Q03XdGJV0

In May, COLA and our LEF attendees and exhibitors were proud to support the Ira H. Hayes Memorial Library in Arizona by donating books that inspire, educate and uplift. Named in honor of Corporal Ira H. Hayes, a Pima Native American and one of the six U.S. Marines immortalized in the iconic Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima photo, the library is a vital resource for its community.
