South Carolina’s budget is still moving, and now is the time to speak up for disability services.

The Governor proposed $47.3 million for Home- and Community-Based Services, but the House reduced that amount to $20 million. These services help people with disabilities and older adults get support in their homes and communities.

The budget is now in the Senate, so there is still time to act.

Please contact your South Carolina legislators today and ask them to support strong HCBS funding.

one in 31 children has autism in the US? To better connect our Healthy Connections Medicaid members to autism services, we have updated our autism spectrum disorder (ASD) policy. Doctors can now screen, diagnose and refer their patients to autism services. This includes applied behavior analysis therapy. Ask your doctor about any questions related to autism. Members should also check with their provider about referrals to ASD services while waiting on an autism confirmation.
