Recently, our Athens Crossing residents enjoyed getting creative while decorating beautiful pysanky eggs! 🥚✨

Pysanky (from pysaty, meaning “to write”) is an ancient Slavic art form where intricate, symbolic designs are carefully “written” onto eggs using a wax-resist method similar to batik. Using a special stylus called a kistka, our artists applied hot beeswax and dyed the eggs in layers to reveal stunning patterns and colors. 🎨

Traditionally, these meaningful eggs are given to loved ones as talismans for health, fertility, and protection—making them as special as they are beautiful. ❤️

Our residents loved learning about this tradition and creating their own unique works of art!

🎉 Double the Celebration, Double the Fun! 🦀🇺🇸

Thursday, we raised a toast to Maryland — the 7th state to ratify the U.S. Constitution back in April 1788 — with our famous golden crab cakes and creamy crab dip at Happy Hour! 🥂

And as if that wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, we also honored one of our beloved residents VIC on his 80th birthday! 🎂💛
